I have a friend who was started on in the street one evening by a half cast man of about 20 years old. This man was just looking for a fight and my friend and my boyfriend told him that they didn't want any trouble. At this point, the man tried to hit my boyfriend (missing miserably and hitting the wall). The man who hit the wall was obviously shouting alot in pain now, and when he removed his had had braided hair. My friend sang 'Craig David' (like Craig David does) and was arrested for racial abuse. If this man had sung a Robbie Williams song for example, would he have been arrested for racial abuse too? According to the police, no! Also apparently we can't call him black or half cast, it has to be mixed race. My friend was locked up in a cell for about 10 hours. The police themselves admited that this wasn't right, and even said that if the man had called my friend Robbie Williams, this would have some how been because he had been aggravated by my boyfriend and friend.

To the person who didn't understand why the polie called it racial abuse, it was simply for implying that the man who tried to punch my boyfriend had the same hair style as Craig David. Also to the person who said I am a liar, why would I lie?!

Oh and no, the 'mixed race' gentleman was not guilty of anything according to the police, even though he tried to start a fight and attempted to hit someone.

Say what. Sounds like the UK has jumped the shark to the pit of stupidity. If that is the case I would have called him the N word and stomped his face off.

Britain's image of itself as a "multicultural paradise" is causing it trouble now. It's the reason why extremists of all kinds, but Salafists (Muslim extremists, Wahhabis, Deobandis) especially have been able to organise, and to base their terrorist projects, in Britain.

It is not much different with aggresive Afro-Caribbeans of the whole or half-blood. Or with those who try to protect their own property from hoodlums.

The trouble is that aside from the European Convention on Human Rights and European Union law, Britain has no constitution and hence no objective norms by which to judge laws, however stupid. Parliament is, after all, sovereign. And Parliament, if it cares to pass such decrees as white is black or up is down, can legally enact an Alice-in-Wonderland legal structure.

I can believe it - a victim of a hit-and-run was criticised by police for describing the driver as 'fat', and there was the case of the young man arrested for calling a police horse 'gay'. Real crime matters less than crimes against political correctness.

While obviously provoked there is no excuse at all for racial abuse .... and I notice you don't tell us exactly what was said for the police to call it that.

How disheartening to know it's not just the US that has these problems. It seems common sense doesn't count for anything. It's wrong, but I don't know how we can fix it.
