There are so many interesting and beautiful places to visit. You may go to London, one of the most exciting and cosmopolitan cities in the world.

Or you may choose the extreme south west by travelling to Cornwall. There you will experience magnificent sea views and fine, long sandy beaches. Great place to surf and swim.

And if you're not bothered about your waistline you could have a tasty Cornish pastie and a pint of Guiness.

Or how about walking in the Peak Districts of Derbyshire. This is land locked but the hills and walks are really inspirational. Some good little caverns to discover, like the Blue John Cavern, a fluor-spar near Castleton.

Then there's the island of Anglesey off the North Wales coast. You can enjoy some fine beaches, a great coastal path with magical sea views. There are some good attractions here like the longest named village in Britain, a world Heritage site - Beaumaris Castle, and an interesting Copper Mountain near Amlwch.

There's also a ferry from Holyhead to Dublin, Ireland, which takes only 99 minutes.

Interesting history
Small enough to be able to get somewhere for a trip in less than a day or so
Predicatable weather (ie always take a brolly)
Most cities are small enough to be easy to get out to the country
Most people speak English which is helpful as I don't speak anything else very well.
That we know how to queue
That people say 'I'm sorry' when you stand on their foot.

Well to be honest apart from the benefits of living in a 'wealthy' society nothing. If it wasn't for family being here I would have f*cked off to the southern hemisphere years ago.

The 'great' in Britian refers to Scotland Ireland (except the south) and Wales only, England is out of it , nothing at all 'great' about England!!

Don't know what you are getting at, but I assume that you don't know that the 'Great' simply means larger in order to distinguish us lot from Brittany. you probably think that is all 'Rule Brittania' shite.
