Drug use rarely causes mental illness. Some drugs may destroy brain tissue which will never grow back again but this will only aid in the development of a mental ilness if there is one there. If someone without ilness took drugs their short term memory will be affected and perhaps their attention span. People with addictive, bipolar, manic, and depressed personalities already were born that way but are the ones most likely to turn to drugs and keep using them. that is why there is a higher link between mental illness and drug abuse.

that is an honestly psychological affliction, and that i in my opinion get dissatisfied even as human beings question one of those ingredient, nonetheless I do get your element. I have melancholy, and once you assert the diseases that ought to prefer to be treated via meds are those you've had for 10 years is thoroughly unfair. melancholy causes an lack of ability to operate in on a daily basis existence and it impacts the lives of the human beings in relationships with that sufferer of melancholy. there is not any motivation to do some thing. All you want to do is sleep and also you'll't concentration on some thing because of that little voice on your head telling you each and every of the undesirable issues in existence. For me, it felt like the international actually were given darker and visually uglier or maybe as i began medicine it brightened up somewhat bit. at present each and every thing has develop right into a drag and darkish again, without motivation to do some thing. This wasn't meant to bash you or some thing, basically attempting to furnish an outlook from a 14 year previous who has had melancholy for 7 years.

Heavens no, puddin'.
The insane use drugs, but the drugs don't CAUSE the insanity.
See, it's like saying punk music causes inappropriate facial piercings in goth teenagers ... the goths are that way with or without the music. Same deal with drugs: those poor sods are insane, whether or not they toke or swallow or snort or shoot up.
Drug abuse is a symptom, not a cause.

The problem is nowhere near as bad as the Narcs say it is, Sure, every once in a while, someone may have a bad trip, but c'mon.... If the friendly dealers want to keep a decent income going, don't you know they're gonna keep the good stuff in stock?

Mental illness is not generally "caused" by drug use, however, it might trigger the onset of something that was already there (i.e. someone is schizophrenic with no symptoms...they use cocaine and it triggers his/her first psychotic episode).

That said, there is such a thing as drug-induced psychosis that can look similar.
