I shoplifted from walmart when I was 17. They said that I couldn't enter Wal-mart property without my father. I wasn't prosecuted but the cops came and interviewed me. Wal-mart took my personal information. Now that I am 18 I was wondering if I am allowed to enter.

Probably, if its several years later.

If they gave you written notice not to enter, then my answer would be otherwise: I would suggest writing to them.

If you go to Wal-Mart (and I have only been there once, to a Wal-Mart in Quebec, disliked it so much I have never been back: I go to Costco) make sure you give no reason for them to suspect you of anything. Be careful if you have to return goods: they photograph you and, who knows, they could make trouble if they have reason to think the return was unjustified.

Good luck.

How does this look Little severe to you ? You intentionally went out to break the regulation & now whinge the wonderful is to severe? to boot the wonderful now you have a shoplifting value which will persist with you for something of your existence!! $$ 250 isn't that great of an excellent. Be happy thats all it rather is plus an eternal mark on your checklist.

I do not think they will notice you unless the same people work there. I would not ask either because then they might get defensive or watch your every move. I do not think they will do anything because even if they do remember you they will probably just watch you and not feel like confronting you. I would just go shopping and see if they say anything to you. As long as you do not break the law you should not have any problems and the worst they will probably do is just ask you to leave. As far as I am concerned you were not completeley banned since they let you shop w/your father.

I hope you've learned your lesson, dear one.

Wal-Mart is a busy, busy store and really doesn't have time to search for past offenders. They do not monitor the door with pictures so there employees can seek you and thousands of other shoplifters out. Nor do they search for previous offenders with their video surveillance inside the store.

I would, however, consider getting in, getting out and purchasing all the items you gather. Pay with cash....they would not be so generous with a second offense...really, child, you were very lucky.

Technically, you are to be criminally trespassed permanently once you are caught shoplifting at Wal-Mart. With the many people that go through Wal-Mart everyday, the chances of anyone recognizing you are very unlikely, but you have to take your own chance on that one. Of course, you are only banned from the store you got caught at.... just go to another Wal-Mart.

In Britain they impose a restraining order preventing you from entering or intimidating the staff. If you break this order the retailer/manager can prosecute you in the local magistrates.

What they would have issued you would have been a "criminal trespass warning" this means if you enter that property again you could be arrested for criminal tresspass.

Since you are no longer a minor and it has been almost a year, and the warning was linked to being alowed to come with a adult, I will beleive you should be able to go now.

If they did NOT bar you then yes you can enter their store. However its always good to check with them before hand in case you missunderstood their rules set before you.

I doubt they would know who you are unless you were picked up for stealing something this time.
