The reason is because they want to maintain their perceived power and control, when in fact they have none except for those who are too ignorant to question what they hear and study the facts for themselves. If people would quit blindly following preachers and search the Bible and the news facts for themselves, they would be much better off and would grow in the Spirit. The Bible predicts the failure of the churches, and so many have become like the Scribes, Pharisees, and Saducees that the Spirit is being squeezed out of many of them. They try to use guilt and blame to make people convert, when that will do them no good at all. If Christ isn't accepted out of love, they have merely been badgered into "accepting" Christ and their hearts have not changed. So many "Christians" beat people over the head with the "rules" that most people won't even talk to anyone about Christ. I've had to use the Hebrew name Yeshua just to get people to listen to the help that I'm trying to give them. This has been more effective and they at least listen to what I have to say. It's a shame that so many people have been abused by well meaning "Christians." It makes it hard to help people.
Love, Hope, Peace, and Christ be with you,
Cal-el & Swissy

Certain polititions have a certain political agenda which may have a major disagreement with a church or support the views of the church. Same sex marriage is one of those contentious issues. Laws or no laws, the preacher pr pastor or whoever has a right on his own to express his opinion who he might follow in an election, and explain why. Church leaders have been known to prayer for one team in a sports event. Nothing wrong with that....Just cuz a priest says this or that doesnt mean people have to follow him, unless they agree with him...

And please state the law that you say it's "against." You can't because there is none, JUST AS THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, except in people's imaginations.
Now, the First Amendment says that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." That means that the government cannot impose a national religion upon the people, but Freedom of Speech insures that it's a one-way street and anyone, preacher or not can speak freely about things.
I have had an ongong $500 reward for anyone who can point to the place in the Consittution where it says anything about a "separation of chuch and state." PLEASE POINT IT OUT AND STEP FORWARD TO COLLECT YOUR $500 NOW!

Matthew 4 : 8 - 10
Matthew 22 : 17 - 21
John 17 : 16
John 18 : 36
In contrast, Matthew chapter 23 describes how many so-called "Christian preachers" are today...
Jesus will have the final say...Matthew 7 : 21 - 23 says so...

I am against church leaders getting involved in politics. It sets off the wrong message. There definitely should be a seperation of Church and state.

I don't like the sound of this.
I also don't like it when officials use God/Jesus to justify what they are saying/doing. Pres did it at the begining of Iraqi War. Hillary Clinton did it when discussing legislature to felonize helping immigrants found in the desert. It's like they borrow the power of God so no further justification is needed. Always seems very deceptive.

I fantastically doubt that the Rev. Jesse Jackson and company are telling human beings to vote for Huckabee. It swings the two tactics -- invoice Clinton went to many black Christian centers. i might honestly be fairly disappointed if my Pastor pronounced Huckabee.
