People with a high metabolism have a difficult time in making big weight gains. You should concentrate on building lean muscle mass instead. It has to do with something very simple....GENETICS!

You can have a good muscular build and have muscle mass, it depends on the exercises you do, and how much effort you put into it.

Although you may never have massive muscles, the key is you won't have allot of fat. And a 14" bicep that is only muscle with look allot better than a 16" bicep that has both muscle and fat!!

You have to learn to accept what type of body you have, and learn what exercises will work for you. 5lbs of muscles is better than 20lbs of fat!

I have the same problem... I took this shake called MAX 4000. Basically a powder you mix w/ milk and it gives you 4000 calories plus you have to eat at least 3 meals a day. It did work I won't lie, I gained like 7 pounds in 2 weeks. Which for me is a lot. But I stopped taking it because I just didnt like taking a supplement, nor did I want my body to become dependent on it. SO I started exercising and building muscle instead of fat. So I am healthy, have muscle tone, and appear to have gained weight although really I haven't that much. I just have muscle mass... Oh... I am a girl... I am 5'9 and I am currently at 145. I was 135... This is over the past 6 months.

This may sound strange coming from a medical professional, but I gained weight by drinking beer. I was underweight and had a high metabolism, and decided to try it. While it did work, I would caution you about alcoholism. I quit drinking after just a year or two of this. Those with a high propensity for addictions may want to try an another path.

Boy do I disagree with you.I can put on weight by just looking at food. Try liking yourself the way you look. But if you can't try lots of ice cream, cakes pies, cookies and beef. See look at there I have put on a pound just thinking about it.

It depends on your build. I know people who workout for years and gain little. I can gain very easily, yet I feel I am big enough. This ticks off my friends trying to grt bigger.
