Oh yes. I'd go back and tell them.

Tesco is normally pretty good aout correcting mistakes, even after you have left the shop.

At the moment, the people on the tills just don't add those "green points" for using your own bags (despite what all those TV ads say), so I always end up at Customer Services asking for my extra 5 or 6 points to be added! (Well, why advertise what they don't give? And besides, it's nice to be given points for something I've been doing for ages anyway!)

My biggest pet peeve are overcharges by store cashiers especially in grocery stores where the errors happen 1 out of every three weeks. I don't care why the mistake was made, or if it's made because the person who was supposed to enter the sale price, missed an item.

It's your hard earned money, Go back to the store and speak with the manager. Ask to have the receipt calculated again and have the money that was overcharged refunded to your acccount.

Stores get away with this type of error all the time because we, as consumers, are much too complacent. Also, it is against the law for a store not to honor its own sale prices.

60 Minutes and some of the other news programs have interviewed stores like Safeway, Toys R' Us, Sears, and major anchor stores in malls that make a habit of doing this. Why? For every, 100 customers who are overcharged in each store, that adds up to a lot of extra "change" throughout all of the different stores in the chain. It adds up to millions of dollars annually, and that money is lost by you and me, the consumers.

The stores always blame it on a computer glitch, but when this happpens on a regular basis, it is human error. Whether it is by accident or on purpose, it is still money lost by you and money in the pocket of the retailer.

They often do that, just go to the service desk next time your in tescos take your reciept and they should amend it, refunding any overpayments, there usualy pretty cool about it so dont feel awkward or anything *:)
Do you want a young man to come and help carry your shopping bags??? I like carrying shopping bags *;)

I'm make up my own mind about sure trivia and not ask a public forum of strangers.

Then I'd see if ite really worth taking it back...more than a couple of quid yes, if its less then perhaps you have way too much time on your hands - do some charity work for an hour instread of chasing that pound ( which you wouldn't have missed had you not checked the reciept. )

Your question is somewhat unintelligible (particularly the bit about 'loads of ppl' - have loads of ppl looked at your receipt??? or what???). Anyway, in what way is it wrong? Too much paid to them or too little? If too much then yes, go and tell them, if too little, no, they're a massive chain and it is up to them to ensure that they charge the cutomer the right amount...
However, it has to be said that if your maths skills, even with a calculator are on the same level as your English skills, I'd check it again 5 or 6 times to make sure you're right.

Take it back - with goods, and ask to speak to the store manager or duty manager. The reciept is *not* a contract (I've taken stuff back to Somerfields for a refund for overcharged goods) and they'll happily check it out for you. They want your custom, not complaints, so be nice, but firm and it'll be fine.

If it is just the calculation of the receipt that is wrong take it back if there is a few quid difference. If it is pence next time you go in make them aware of the problem

Go back and tell them! We don't complain enough, so companies keep getting away with it. The more we stand up for ourselves (politely, of course!) the more big companies will start taking care of their customers or end up losing them.
