If the U.S. weren't dealing with the high number of illegal aliens swarming over the southern border, don't you think the number of legal immigrants would be allowed to increase?
Honestly. You seem to have no idea the billions of U.S. dollars that are expended supporting these people who don't belong here.
If you have a problem with the way your friend was denied legal entry, you need to place the blame squarely on the shoulders where the blame bleongs.

It should be very hard to be an illegal immigrant, if a person inters this country illegally they are automatically a criminal. These criminals are destroying our economy . Their children go to our school's and we are forced to hire spanish speaking teacher's,they get sick and visit our hospital's depleating the fund's set aside for American Citizens, the crime among these people keep our jails over flowing, the drug problem is even greater among these people and on and on and on. They move into our once nice neighborhood's and destroy land values by continuing to live like they did in their country, with no regard at all for what they are doing to people around them.Hell yes, being an ILLEGAL immigrant should be very difficult.

Immigrating to the US legally depends entirely on your circumstances. If you have an American parent or an American Partner, it might not be as difficult as you’d think. If you have no American connections, it might prove to be difficult. You either need to be sponsored via an H2-B visa (work permit) and accumulate enough time in the US before naturalisation takes place, or apply as an investor/valuable member of community.
To know what your prospects are, go to the INS website:
http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm
If you are a British citizen, you might find it easier to immigrate to Canada. Once obtaining a Canadian passport, life in the US gets a lot easier.

Yes it's because too many people want to come here. If we let them all we would be over populated. We can't just let billions of illegals live here and break down our economy. Those laws are in place for a reason. That's because economist and center of disease control, ect. ect. have predicted the devasting effects of having open borders. That's why they are closed. Believe me if they were open we would have a bigger population problem than China and India combined.

yes I know.... I am a LEGAL Immigrant..... i stood in lines, paid loads of money, waited and waited, entered legally, did everything by the book..... it is hard.... but it is the right thing to do....I would never have done it any other way. I am sorry about your friend... but the problem is so many people probably doing the wrong things, making it harder on the rest of us..... if possible, he could try to apply for some other visa....

Yes, I know how hard it is to become a legal immigrant of the U.S. I used to work at an immigration office. Your friend needs that recording company to sponsor him for a work visa, or maybe he could apply for a tourist visa. It depends on how long he's planning on staying here. If he's coming here for good, then go for the work visa, and apply for legal permanent residence, and after that, citizenship.

Why should it be easy? We have immigration LIMITS. That means, no more than that number are allowed or wanted.
There are laws against other forms of stealing, too. Just because it isn't easy to buy the mansion on the hill doesn't mean it's ok to move in without an invitation.

HOWEVER, do YOU realize what a PITA it is to know that you as a tax paying citizen are paying for an illegal immigrants healthcare (such as medicaid) when you yourself are not elligable, AND what you are elligable for costs too much? My ex's sister (they were illegal) came here and had 3 kids in 3.5 years. All had their healthcare paid for and a good portion of their food. Yet when I AN AMERICAN CITIZEN was struggling with health problems, there was no aid available to me whatsoever.
Not to mention that we have a COUNTRY TO PROTECT, and it is simple LOGIC that part of that protection would HAVE to come at the borders..........

why was your friend turned down? The reason for that could make a lot of difference in the way someone answers your question.
