They are two separate religions. Sikhs follow rules such as the 5 Ks. They believe in one God. They attend a temple. Go here to learn more about sikhs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikhism

Muslims believe in one God, Allah, and they attend a Mosque. You can go here to learn more about Islam:http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/

Therefore the main differences are there places of worship (the christian equivalent of a christian church), their holy scriptures (like the equivalent of the christian bible ) and their religious symbols (the equivalent of the christian cross). They also both have different rules to follow in their daily lives, and different prayers.

hope this helps! take care x

Sikh is a religion based in India and is mostly practiced by Indians but is prevalent throughout the Eastern part of the globe and has taken hold in North America as well. Sikhs believe in a nature based religion and worship the feminine as well as masculine aspects of the deities. Muslims found it's start in the Islamic world and is much more similar to the monotheistic religions like Christianity and Judaism

OK, from what I can gather the main difference is that Muslims believe that there is only one God, with the messenger being Muhammed:

"Most Muslims accept as a fellow Muslim (brother/sister) anyone who has publicly pronounced the Shahada, which states, "There is only one God and Muhammad is His Messenger."

On the other hand, Sikh's believe that although there is only one god, there are ten Gurus:

"The SGPC defines a Sikh in the Rehat Maryada as a person who believes in:

One God
Ten Gurus, from Guru Nanak Dev to Guru Gobind Singh
The Guru Granth Sahib
The utterances and teachings of the ten Gurus
The baptism bequeathed by the tenth Guru (however, a Sikh does not need to be baptised to be a Sikh) "

I think the fundamental difference lies in the belief of the different messengers as opposed to the actual God.

I believe one of the main founders of Sikhism was a Muslim who left Islam, led a hindu-like spiritual journey with some Islamic ideologies... towards the end of his life, he returned to Islam. The Sikh religion is founded by 10 or 12 gurus (spiritual leaders)

ISLAM: is a monotheistic religion based upon the Qur'an, which adherents believe was sent by God (Arabic: Allāh) through Muhammad. Followers of Islam, known as Muslims, believe Muhammad to have been God's final prophet; most of them see the historic record of the actions and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad related in the Sunnah and Hadith as indispensable tools for interpreting the Qur'an.

Sikh: religious group that broke away from Hinduism during the 16th century and advocated a monotheistic doctrine, incorporating some aspects of Islam.

they're not from the same area originially. Sikhism is a stem of hinduism. In terms of the Sikh's methods- they are similar as they pray to no God per say but to a prophet. Sikhs were formed in India, Muslims have a larger area covered all around the globe and their God is Allah, however they respect their prophet in the same way but pray to Allah and show their respect to the Prophet Mohammed. Sikhs were originally warriors to protect the so called passive Indians too-i think you may be confusing them both historically because of the appearances in terms of the headgear.

Entirely different but all human!

They are two different religions. You find Sikhs and Muslims in certain parts of the Indian sub-continent but it doesn't mean they are the same. It's like you find Catholics, C of E, other forms of Christianity and other religions in America or Europe but you mustn't confuse one with another. Sikhs are most likely to be found in India but most people in Islamic countries (Northwest China, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Turkey, some countries in the former USSR states , some countries in Middle Asia, some North African countries and most Middle-eastern countries) are Muslims. I think Muslims means followers of Islam.
