Yeah sure...u can instlal Windows XP & Linux into ur system.
Here are some tips for u before installing Linux:
1) If you are going to install a fresh copy of Windows XP (recommended) then u need to know that from Windows XP u can't access Linux's drive (or even any file or document whc\ich will exists in Linux.). But from Linux O/S u can access all the drives including XP's one.
2) You must install XP 1st & then only install Linux.
3) Linux file type will be .ext2 or .ext3
So before going ahead for installing any O/S you should have a ext2/ext3 drive & also a swap area (recommended- twice the size of ur RAM...say u have 256 MB of RAM..then you must have 512 MB of Swap area.)
So go ahead..
Best of Luck.

Yes provided you have enough disk space and you install them on different partitions.

Dual boot installation of Linux on a computer having windows.
Note down how many partitions you have on your pc. Keep the partition empty where you want to install Linux. If possible format the partition where you want to install Linux to FAT32 before starting installation.
After you start the linux installtion you will come across the partitioning dialog. Linux by defaults delects the windows installation and sees the empty partition and suggests you the partitioning scheme. Just make sure you choose to keep the windows installation intact, and you opt to create a dual boot installation. .
And select the partition for linux other than your windows partition.
Select the GRUB bootlaoder, if you are asked to
Rest is taken care by default.
Read the onscreen options as they come by and proceed

First as a warning on the digital disk. I even have tried that, this is volatile and could have a heavy slowdown on your pc. honestly the belief of two OS's on one pc could make it greater sturdy in a fashion of talking. shall we are saying some thing is going incorrect on your abode windows area. only bounce into linux and choose the thank you to repair it. or you could pass vice versa (regardless of the reality that abode windows does require greater application to recuperate linux). the only element risky is the boot loader yet I even have not had any hardship with it and, if it rather does get tousled, the stay CD for ubuntu has fixes for the boot loader. i'm curently twin booting my computing gadget and it purely has approximately 20 GB. It has not failed as quickly as. only as an element notice, repartioning is a touch volatile yet after it is done, if each and every thing is undamaged each and every thing resumes stability. Basicly, you're secure. sturdy success.
