Here's what I do...it always works.
Go to priceline.com and type in NYC and the dates you want. Then go to Name Your Own Price and put in 3 stars and something like $65.
If it's accepted great. If not, put in $70, and keep on doing this until something comes up.
It always works. The last time I was in NYC I got a 3 star hotel 1 block from Wall Street for $65 a night.
Good luck!

With the mole people, just kidding. That is the worst time to go and you may not get a hotel because most of them are already booked up for New Years. You will need to get it far in advance or stay with someone you know.

If you can't find a hotel, there's always the projects: Marcy (Jay-Z's projects), Bed-Stuy, Queensbridge, Soundview (the Bronx), etc. Consume as much caffeine AS POSSIBLE because folks are going to jack you left and right and you're gonna need to watch your back, front, left, and right....Just kidding! SERIOUSLY, I don't know.
