Annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY web site you can get your credit report for free and that does not ask for credit card information.
FreeCreditReport.com will ask for your credit card and if you don't cancel your 'subscription' they will charge you a monthly fee.
Federal law allows you 1 free credit report from each of the credit bureaus, every 12 months. No strings!

Do not use any of the links on the Internet that offer you a "free" credit report. Yes it is free but you have to join their credit monitoring service which is a total ripoff, it does nothing for you. Contact each of the three credit reporting agencies (Expirion, Transunion and Equifax) and tell them you want a credit report. You are entitled to one free report a year.

Go to either www.transunion.com, or www.equifax.com. These are two of the three major credit bureaus that most report your credit status to. They can send you a complete copy of your credit report.

You can get a free report from all three bureaus, once a year, at www.freeannualreport.com

You DO NOT get a free score, but you can get the report-- and then do an investigation based on info you find there.

Go to www.freecreditreport.com and, when it asks for your credit card information, put in your debit card information. I did this when I was checking my mom's credit for her, and it worked just fine.
