More precisely, the word muslim should be replace by Islamic.

India is still Hindu. Local-born religion always has stronger influence. Not only forming the culture but also become an identity of the nation.

Islam came to India as invader and destroyer, burning and killing both Hindu and Buddhist. The reason it become vast in India is because children of Islamic people are compulsory and automatically muslims, and Indians breed a lot.

Plus Hindu still practise 4-caste society, it is one big reason people convert to Islam.

I am indian we are a secular country that means that all religion are equal in the front of govt, although hindus are the largest majority there are other religions as well. we are the only country where muslim pilgrims get state subsidized grants for haj and special flights as well. India also has special haj terminals at airports for muslims, after indonesia india has the largest population of muslims and of course they also get reservation in the emplyement , according to nehruvian policy planning the minority are given a reservation in jobs and civil participation.

India is a country with a muslim president and a sikh prime minister and the head of ruling party is an italian, it is truly the most secular democracy in the world.

India as a socialst secular republic. Secular State means a state without any religion, means state has no religion of its own. State treats all the religions and people of all the religions equally.
In fact India is diversified, in culture, religions, languages, customs, etc.,. In India there lives people belongs to various religions, mainly are Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikh, Budhists, Parsis, Jews, etc., etc., Each community respects the religions of all other communities. They have love and affection towards each other. And in India there are only few mischieveous persons and fundamentals, such as V.H.P., R.S.S., Shive Sena,
Bajrangdal, Hindu-Mahasabha, etc., which in fact are C.I.A. and I.S.I., agents and there are alleged to be millitants like, LTTE, ULFA, NAGA BODO LeT, JeT, etc., who are working at the instance if C,I.A., AND ISI., and there are some politician top of whom are L.K. Advani, Narendra Modi, Dr. Praveen Bhai Tokadia, who believe to be working for C.I.A., & ISI as such they have all the prior informations for all the Terrorists Attacks conducted in India, since after 9/11.

I can not divide the India on the basis of Muslims Population and Non Muslims Population. It will be mischieveous thing.

india is one of the most religiously diverse nations in the world, with some of the most deeply religious societies and cultures. Religion plays a central and definitive role in the life of the country and most of its people.

The faith of more than 80.4% of the people is Hinduism, considered the world's oldest religious and philosophical system. Islam is practiced by around 13.4% of all Indians.

Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism are Indian-born religious systems that are strong and influential not only in India but across the world. Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Judaism and the Bahá'í Faith are also influential but their numbers are smaller (except for Christianity).
