The Jews were God's chosen people. Jesus was supposed to be a sign to the rest of the world that God existed.

But there's a lot of controversy about that.

God told the Jews of the coming Messiah (the Son), and they were also aware of God's Spirit. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word for God (Elohim) is plural, while the associated verbs are singular. The fact that the word "trinity" wasn't coined until the Christian age really is not significant.

In the Old Testament, there are prophecies about the coming savior, and the Jews were looking for Him. They just though that He would set up an earthly kingdom.

There are several places in the Bible that give some light to the Godhead.

In Genesis, it says that God created the heaven and the earth, and the Spirit of God moved over the face of the water. Two are spoken of at the very beginning, the Father and the Holy Spirit.

In one of the psalms it says - The Lord said to my Lord ...
The Lord (the Father of all).
my Lord (and savior, Jesus).

God told the Jews about Jesus through prophecies in the old testament and through events that happend during His lifetime and even since. He is the fulfillment of the signs found in many of the Jewish feasts, but there will always be those in every part of the world who will not see.
Before Jesus, humans found atonement through sacrifices. Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice, doing away with the need for a sacrifice each time someone sinned.

THE TRINITY CONCEPT IS DECEPTION AND GOD AND JESUS IS ONE ONLY IN THE WAY THEY THINK, THE PLAN FOR MANKIND. IT IS GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS THE SON. GOD IS A FAMILY AND IS REPRODUCING HISSELF WITH THOSE WHO KEEP HIS LAWS.
It may first be noted that the words “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (KJ) found in older translations at 1 John 5:7 are actually spurious additions to the original text. A footnote in The Jerusalem Bible, a Catholic translation, says that these words are “not in any of the early Greek MSS [manuscripts], or any of the early translations, or in the best MSS of the Vulg[ate] itself.” A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, by Bruce Metzger (1975, pp. 716-718), traces in detail the history of the spurious passage. It states that the passage is first found in a treatise entitled Liber Apologeticus, of the fourth century, and that it appears in Old Latin and Vulgate manuscripts of the Scriptures, beginning in the sixth century. Modern translations as a whole, both Catholic and Protestant, do not include them in the main body of the text, because of recognizing their spurious nature.—RS, NE, NAB.

Other evidence of its impersonal nature. Further evidence against the idea of personality as regards the holy spirit is the way it is used in association with other impersonal things, such as water and fire (Mt 3:11; Mr 1:8); and Christians are spoken of as being baptized “in holy spirit.” (Ac 1:5; 11:16) Persons are urged to become “filled with spirit” instead of with wine. (Eph 5:18) So, too, persons are spoken of as being ‘filled’ with it along with such qualities as wisdom and faith (Ac 6:3, 5; 11:24) or joy (Ac 13:52); and holy spirit is inserted, or sandwiched in, with a number of such qualities at 2 Corinthians 6:6. It is most unlikely that such expressions would be made if the holy spirit were a divine person. As to the spirit’s ‘bearing witness’ (Ac 5:32; 20:23), it may be noted that the same thing is said of the water and the blood at 1 John 5:6-8. While some texts refer to the spirit as ‘witnessing,’ ‘speaking,’ or ‘saying’ things, other texts make clear that it spoke through persons, having no personal voice of its own. (Compare Heb 3:7; 10:15-17; Ps 95:7; Jer 31:33, 34; Ac 19:2-6; 21:4; 28:25.)

There is no where in the bible that the word trinity appears or describes God as a trinity.Trinity started with the pagan religions and was absorbed into christianity.
so do your research well and find out if really if Jesus is the Almighty God or the son of God?,if the holy spirit is a person? and who the real God is.for more info visit http://www.watchtower.org/library/ti/article_04.htm

trinity started in Genesis, the Jews knew who God is, also they were waiting for the messiah God had promised them in the beginning. All the old testament is a picture of Jesus Christ

andfinally God has no sons, no daughters and no wives!! he's one and not 3

Actually, Elohiem(sp?) is one of the names of God used in the Old Testament of the Bible. Elohiem is hebrew; it is feminine; and it is plural. It means "Creators"

Ah, i wanted to add. i'm not necessarily making any statement about
Judaism and Christianity and God telling the Jews about Jesus. I don't want my answer to be misconstrued as any form of "Christians are right and Jews are not" because, i would never make that statement.

I just wanted to mention that there were plural names of God in the Old Testament.

Just one tic, i also wanted to point out that i see a lot of people making broad statements about Jews and Jesus. I would just like to suggest perhaps using the qualifier "some" before stating "Jews" ..eh?

christianity is the 'way of life' of jesus. GOD never hiding anything from anybody, only the thing is jesus asked himself about god and life, and he understand what the peoples expecting. By living as a roll model jesus shown a new 'way of life'. At that time king of Jews feared about the popularity and acceptebility of jesus in public will danger to him and it will cause for the end of his power. So he is tried to destroy jesus. There is no involvement of GOD in this.
