I restored my system recover back to Sept. 1, 2006. Everything was fine on Sept. 1. However, when it reload the desk top icons did not show up. I am not able to get into my files from my desk top. I have to enter my computer and files through the error message that pops up and ask me rather or not I want to send this error message to Microsoft. Can someone please help me.

right click on your desktop>click arrange icons by>click show desktop icons.

recovering is not the best choice better to repair your Windows or to reinstall it

boot from the windows cd and choose repair
