I want BREAD, PASTA, CHIPS, MASH, CHOCOLATE......but im trying to be good. Need some advise on what I can do to ease the hunger. Im a very very fussy eater, dont eat anything pork, (choice not religion), dont really like chicken that much, its boring, been told salad and veg are out, thats good coz i only like lettuce and cucumber and tin peas and carrotts, but what else can I eat? Any suggestions and recipes please.

You cannot even begin a low carb diet without research. A low carb diet will not work if you have the mindset you have where you are thinking your depriving yourself. So why bother.

Atkins saved my life. Seriously and I am not joking. For 30 years I was bulemic and tried every diet on the planet and to lose one pound I would have to starve myself to 500 calories a day or puke all my food not as a benge as they say bulemia is but to try and lose weight or not gain it back. I am very short only 4'11 and to eat like a normal person I would gain so fast it wasn't funny as I had destroyed my metabolism.

2 1/2 years ago I thought about going on the Atkins as I wanted to lose weight fast. I got the book and began to read it. (The single most important thing before beginning any low carb program) Wow this made more sense than anything I have ever read. I realized that this couldn't be a diet for me but I had to change my way of eating for life.

To me if there could be a perfect way of eating this is it. But you have to decide before beginning this that those high carbs aren't worth it. If you approach this as your depriving yourself you will never stick with it. It's all about substitutions. I want a piece of cake, I make a cheesecake with walnuts for the crust instead of graham crackers and splenda in place of the sugar. Very legal on and I will not gain weight.

I have weighed 110 for over 2 years, a perfect weight in my mind for a 47 year old woman, never weigh myself but recently went to the Doctor because of a sinus infection and I haven't gain one pound and EAT! Let me tell you I eat! Yippee!

Firstly you should be on low carb, not no carb, you won't lose weight, and that is why you are hungray. You need to have some veg in your diet, fresh carrots are much nicer than tinned.

Chicken is only boring if you don't do anything with it. Try adding cream and chillies to chicken and mushrooms to make it a bit more spicy.
Omelette's are nice, use plenty of cheese.
Baked salmon or Tuna with salad.
Put fitlady into google and you will get plenty of low carb recipes.

It was conclusively proven that the 'Atkins' diet is harmful to your long term health. Admittedly, reducing carbs is effective in weight loss, but you should not neglect your bodys need for other vitamins and minerals found in natural produce. Salad is very low in carbs, so it is ridiculous to abstain from it.

I would suggest that if you insist on keeping up your 'diet' that you do hold back on pulses (beans & peas) pasta, potatoes etc. But please eat other fruits and vegetables. Without these you risk developing conditions resultant of malnutrition, sich as rickets or scurvy. Believe me when I say that these are certainly less attractive than any extra pounds you may be carrying.
Exercise will shift excess weight better than any fad diet, and will improve rather than damage your health. I'm sure you'll look lovely in your dress.
Best wishes.

I'm afraid you've chosen the wrong diet!
If you don't eat protein and veg, then you have nothing to fill you up... Carbs aren't bad - it's the quantity people eat them in that is bad! You seriously can't eat salad and veg? - I find that hard to believe cos most of them have very ow calorie counts...
It could be a good idea to to make soup, which may be good with added chicken?

AHH!! I know how you feel! I am sooo starving right now. First of all, always try and drink tons of water and liquids. That will help somewhat with the hunger pains. Umm, are you allowed to have fruits? Because as far as I know, those have lots of carbs too. I would suggest not to worry about your carb intake, but rather go by calories. If you cut your daily calorie intake by 500 you will definitely fit into that sexy dress by Christmas...and you can have carbs!

Eating carbs is an essential part of the diet. So you want to lose, weight? If you want to keep it off then refraining from Carbs is not the way to go! No food is "bad" in moderation. Exercise and portion size is the key. Good luck!

cutting out carbs is not the answer. These give us the majority of our energy so without them you are liable to end up feeling tired and listless. The complex carbs such as wholegrains are the best ones as they leave you feeling fuller for longer and that'll prevent you from overeating and snacking. Also, little and often is the best policy.
If you really don't want to do carbs then try omelettes, fillet steak and different kinds of fish. All healthy and nutritious.

Good luck!
