This is like "Which is better, General Motors, or Chevrolet"?

Kick boxing is a sub-set of Muay Thai. Kick Boxing does not allow all Muay Thai moves. Especially knee and elbow strikes, which are the main crippling weapons in Muay Thai, are not allowed in Kick Boxing. A Muay Thai fighter will quite literally kill an approximately equally skilled kick boxer if no one steps in to stop the fight.

there are several good answers here, Muai Thai hands down.

kick boxing is very limited by it's use of only the hands and feet, it's more for an areobic or cardiovascular workout, whereas Muai Thai uses feet, shins, knees, elbows, and forearms for locking an opponent in a grab for knee strikes to the face.

Muay Thai. It has all the moves of kickboxing, plus elbows, knees and grappling. It also has a respectful side such as doing the Wai Kru for showing respect to trainers, family and spirits. Muay Thai has no belts because all fighters are equally respected.

kickboxing without a doubt. dunno who it was said it comes from muay thai but it doesn't. it was first practiced in America. it is a mixture of karate and boxing. the reason it was invented was because boxing was getting better publicity than karate coz of the fact ppl get knocked out so the karate practitioners started to do full contact karate which became better known as kickboxing. trust me, Ive been doing it for 14yrs now and have done much homework on the matter.
