The disease still exists, but is extremely rare. St Anthony's Fire or Dancing Mania is medically known as ergotism. It was common during the middle ages because of the prevalence of rye as a cereal in meals, and was caused specifically by contamination with a fungus - claviceps purpurea - which would produce ergot alkaloid chemicals which contaminated food and caused ergotism.

Nowadays rye is not as commonly used, and standards of food hygiene are much higher so ergotism is consequently rare. Occasional cases may occur due to overdose of ergotamine containing drugs, but it is very, very rare and I've personally never come across one.
