its just a trick, to weed out the non-believers. gods just playing with us.... he thinks we're all fools and will believe anything we find in the ground... i bet gods rolling around on the floor pissing with laughter that we found the bones, and then stuck them in museums, and then pay money to look at them...

me thinks god is a bit of a prankster..

and on the 8th day he created cannabis....

The bible was as mentioned by others written by humans, that didn't know of the existance of dinosaurs, but it's important to remember that God created the earth and it's inhabitants in 6 days and on the 7th he rested. How long was a day then, there was no-one around to say at the time, it could have been a thousand days couldn't it. To assume that a day in the life of the lord is 24hrs is probably taking the bible a bit too literally.

This is a great question. I think it is because Dinosaurs existed long before people existed and in fact, Dinosaurs fossils were not really discovered and recognised for what they are until 200 years ago.

So people who originally contributed the Bible would not have known about Dinosaurs.

The short answer is God didn't write the Bible.

Dinosaurs aren’t mentioned in the bible because the bible focuses on the human aspect of things rather than the biological. Everything to do with dinosaurs (including palaeontology, the study of fossils) is actually derived from the Darwinian work which claims that humans were not created by God, but by a chain of evolutionary progressions, developing man from primate.

Needless to say, most creeds believe Darwinism is heresy, so Darwin and God don’t really walk hand in hand.

since my childhood i also have thought abt this many a times. i have also tried to connect the scientific concepts with the mythological ones.
i think GOD must be some group of scientists who still prevail somewhere in some part of the universe.
they must have started the life on earth from scratch - ie - one cell. and slowly over a period of millions of years they continued the research and development of the earth, atmosphere and other things

GOD must have started the research on making a human being on a monkey and after a lot of research of number of years only that HE was able to make a human being.

But GOD must have made the Dinosouers a long before man. Even if Man was existing at the times of dinasauers, he must not have got the capability of writing and by the time Bible was written, the whole generation of human beings reached the advanced stage of research by GOD wherein he could read adn write. Probably, people at that time did not have adequate means to know abt the dinasaures because they were extinct by then.

and who knows, dinausers are extinct. The great scientist - GOD must have thought that the Dinasaures and other such like species are a threat to HIS most valued research - MAN. so he must have done something to reduce the size of these living beings(Dinasaures).
The reptiles and lizards we see today must be those shrunk version of earstwhile dinasaures.

Who says GOD is NOT there. I firmly believe that HE does exist somewhere in this universe.

Have I answered u!!

I don't believe in creationism, but there is no mention of a whole lot of other things either. God could have made an old world, with dinosaur bones already in it! I think a better question is 'If creationism is true, Adam and Eve had only sons, so how did they perpetuate the human race?' I was told that it is because they had twin sisters. A. They aren't mentioned in the bible and B. Why aren't we all genetic mutants? Messed up, huh?

Because men wrote the Bible and at the time the men who wrote the bible did not know about dinasours. Its that simple. The Bible may have been inspired by people who were in touch with the sacred realm and they imparted some great wisdom on mankind ...but GOD did not talk to man verbatum in a human language. The Bible is an amazing book but it is based on a very remedial understanding of divinity and what it really is...sorry to offend any Christains or Jews but the Bible is a book written by humans...The way to GOD is through yourself and not through some book!!

theres mention of serpants and dragons. Dinosaur was not a word yet. I have heard theorys that God destroyed them in the flood when the fallen angels came to earth and alterd the DNA of mankind By breeding with human woman, and possibly making the greek mythology gods like the unicorn, pagesus, and many others.. Thats why God Flooded the Earth and Only spared Noah and his Large Family to re-populate...Read Gen:6. it is beleived that todays alien abductions are God's Fallen angels ( Satan and His Army ) munipulating man kind for a future deception after the holy rapture takes place. UFO sightings are increasing. This may be how the entire Human Race falls for the anti-christ and his lies, after the christians vanish. Ive seen demons Face...It looked like a alien to me..GOD BLESS.

Because the story of Adam and Eve (here's the shocker!) is not true! You have to have and amazing ability to ignore all the laws of the universe to belive in Adam and Eve. For one you cannot get a successful breeding population of a species from two individuals! The same goes for the Ark how the hell did Noah get at least two (seven of the clean animals) of every animal, plant, fish, insect, bacteria, virus, mould on a boat. How did he get all these organism from across the entire planet to converge in one place by themselves, how did he feed them for 40 days, how did he maintain the correct environmental conditions for them? No one can answer these questions apart from a vague answer of something to do with God. The stories in the Old Testament are not real! I'm not saying God doesn't exist the stories may be there to help people understand, in which case they are parables not facts.

The bible was written so as to be relevant to it's time and largely as a behavioural guide for a society that did not have our sociological structure

If the question you are really asking is 'does God exist' then , referring to quantum mechanics, I believe that he to which some refer to as God exists in every wave of string energy that goes to make up our universe and that he is the sum of that energy's 'instructional ability'

I know this probably doesn't make much sense but it will once I publish my book on the meaning of life ( if I can squeeze writing it in between riding my motorbike, social work and rock climbing )

PS thanks for answering my question ( I thought the guys comment about mouthwash was funny :-)

Because the Bible is only a couple of thousand years old, and it's just a storybook, we have no proof that anything in the Bible is true except for the maps. Besides, the dinosaurs are really really old compared to the Bible.
