I am a Christian and my boyfriend is a Pagan. I'm finding that most of his views do not contradict the Bible in any way. I'm wanting to learn more about casting and other Pagan rituals but I'm not sure I understand the fundamentals.

There are Christo-Pagans and Christian Wiccans and many very old Synchretic beliefs, mainly in South America, like Santeria and Umbanda. You can learn about Paganism and Wicca without becoming Pagan or Wiccan. You can also practice Magick without being Pagan. Some of the most well-developed magical systems are Christian. The Bible itself has many spells in it, you just have to know how to look for them.

And no, the Bible does not contradict Paganism and nor does Paganism contradict the Bible, if you read it. It says that God made Adam and Eve after the Gods made humans, and it says that there ARE other Gods, but the God of the descendants of Adam and Eve wanted that tribe to worship only him.

Go ahead, read it.

Pagans say you should find YOUR God(s) and/or Goddess(es), the ones that speak to you personally and worship them. If it's the God of Adam and Eve, so be it. However, prosylatizing is anti-Pagan.

I was a pagan for years before I opened my heart to the teachings of the Lord Jesus. I've felt such an amazing transformation in my life since I've dedicated my life to the Lord. I study the Bible and find such comfort in knowing that the Lord is there. As a pagan, I'd worship the Moon and the trees, now I worship the amazing God who created them all!♥

I know definately that the views of a Pagan do contradict the Bible. There are many types of paganism. I practiced native american spirituiality and though I beleived it brought me some understanding and comfort at the time, it couldent compare to the wholeness I felt when Jesus came into my life. I felt whole for the first time.

Catholicism seems to mesh better with paganism than any other denomination of Christianity...As the saints and working with the saints is very similare to spell work. Wicca-particularly eclectic Wicca have taken the stance that if it fits, cool, if it doesn’t fit... MAKE it fit...
Like Kaplah said there are many syncrestic paths (paths which "blend" Christianity with paganism) Some of these paths include Strega, Candoble, Santeria, Voodoo, Yoruban, etc. Where the ancient spirits (Orisha/ LOA) are revered using the veneer or Catholicism.... meaning that the images of the saints are used to embody the spirts of the LOA, Orisha, etc. For example St Barbara is often synonymous with the Orisha Shango, many of these paths utilize trance possession, shamanic journey, herbal practices, ritual sacrifice ( yes animal... but it is done in a respectful manner & the flesh is consumed by the participants) As far as going against the bible, any ritual in which any god other than Yhwh is invoked goes against the 1st commandment. There are many "thou shalt not's" in Christianity, as one Christian pointed out... in Deuteronomy... no divination (fortune telling) no Sorcery (pragmatic magic) Necromancy (dealing with eh spirits of the dead) poisoners etc..But there is no ban on Theurgy a magic that invokes the power of god. So if you work in the realm of theurgy only, utilize the Holy family in your rituals, do not call quarters... then you are square with the Bible...

This is just my opinion, but I have to tell you: I think you will be much happier in life with your boyfriend once you cast off Christianity and embrace paganism fully. Christianity has so much talk about sin and hell and suffering and condemnation. Paganism is about loving life, loving this earth, loving your body, and generally celebrating all the good things in this life now. You don't have to wait for paradise. It's here now if you can merely find it. Paganism is a good way to find it.

There are a number of "Christian Witches" as it were - if you do a websearch, you should be able to find some sites with some basics. You might also find some information if you look for Christian mystics, or the Rosicrucians. Christianity has had a long, if quiet, history of ceremonial magic.

Is your boyfriend Wiccan or Pagan, dear?

you use the term like they're interchangable. If he's wiccan, yes, you can blend the two kinda, if he's a different strak of pagan, it might be a little more difficult.

What Bible are you reading??

Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deu 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Christians should not court non-Christians, EVER! It will lead you from Jesus.

Ok here is the reality of it, You can not be a Christian and practice any kind of witch craft! Period! The forces in witch craft are the demons of our bible! They just masquerade around as pagan deities, but there not, they are the fallen Angele's of the bible and satan is there horned god! Ask him about the Horned god, well that is satan telling him he is an ancient god and he is to be worshiped, and you know our bible says do not worship demons! So he is worshiping demons, and you the good christian girl are his girlfriend! The bible says do not be UN equally yoked. That's what that means, not to be with someone who don't worship Christ as you do and he actually worships demons! Get the picture! Go read Jeremiah and see about the false god worship and idol worship and see how God feels about it! Its pretty clear!
