I mean, look at Iran and half the west arguing over these nuclear war heads. Surely terrorism doesn't stand a chance next to the very real possibility that a nuclear war will have us all in an early grave by the end of the decade?

Depends on who is pointing the finger.
There are millions pointing and screaming "terrorist" across the globe.
I don't think there will be a state vs state nuke war, but if some resistance movement gets ahold of one it will change western style "gunboat diplomacy" forever.
Imagine politicians/corporations trying to convince Americans to invade Iran or Syria if Hizbollah has about 12 nukes in suitcases ready for deployment.
The end of gunboat diplomacy and the beginning of "hey, can we offer you a fair deal".

I do not believe that Iran has a functional nuclear weapon, just a program trying to develop nuclear weapons. They deny that it's weapons research, claiming only to be trying to develop nuclear technology for energy production. The reason I believe they don't have "The Bomb" is that if they did, they would have used it. If they develop nuclear weapons, then they have to have a way to deliver them, which they don't right now. I see a lot of talk about small "breifcase" nukes, but that takes a level of technical sophistication that Iran does not appear to have right now. I am much more worried about them exporting terrorism than developing nukes.

The real threats are those that the governments are sticking their heads in the sand over.
Climate Change, Peak Oil, bathtubs (more Americans drown in their baths every year than are killed by terrorist attacks).
(that was only slightly tongue in cheek)
In the United Kingdom 2 women a week are killed by their partners. That's twice as many deaths as were caused by terrorists here last year (and it was an unusually bad year for terrorism with the July 7th bombings).
Who are the real terrorists? Violent partners, by a long way.

Religion is the root of all evil.I believe it will take one nutter to get into power then nuclear weapons will be used,im surprised bush
has not used them.He is a war monger he is finishing off what his father failed to do.The American Goverments have no right to tell other countries how to live. The word Terroism was first used
after world war 11 when the jewish people fled to Palestine which they claimed. There will never be peace untill the land is given back to the palestinian people. It has been used by the arab
people to create unrest.

Yes, terrorism is a threat to unjust. If you look deep into the reasons behind all terrorism acts, you'll find the #1 reason is unjustice. When you see your people bombed, your home destroyed, your filthy government supported by some countery, it's natural that you direct your anger towards that country. And when you see people of that country support their government, it's also natural to direct your revenge to those people.
Remove the main reason, UNJUSTICE, and be sure there will be no terrorism.

Far more people die from gunshots in the US every year than die as a result of terrorism, even counting 9/11. More US soldiers will die in Iraq than died in 9/11. The risk of dieing as a result of terrorism is remote. Its far more dangerous to drive to work every day. Billions of dollars have been spent on the war on terrorism that could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives if it was spent on more important issues.

Terrorism may not be the main threat but it sure is a threat and that too a serious one! If people can be sick enough to crash planes into buildings..... who knows what are they planning next. We can't afford to ignore it.

Who do you suppose that Iran would have use a nuke. Do you think they would fire it themselves? They are crazy and it is possible, but I think it is much more likely they would give it to a Militant. The ultimate suicide bomber! It would be hard to point a finger at Iran for sure. At least to the satisfaction of the UN and world community.
