Gal 5:5-6
5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

Finishing that portion of scripture gives you the answer. It is not in the flesh that you are justified before God, but through the spirit. Further in Galations 6, you'll find the following as well.

Gal 6:11-15
11 See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand! 12 As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. 13 For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. 14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom[a] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.

So, taking the portion of scripture you gave gives a very different view than taking the entire passage in context, as well as referencing it against other passages discussing a similar topic.

Does that mean a person who loses a limb won't go to heaven or meet Jesus? He don't care about that stuff, he just wants you to live in peace with your fellow man. Don't be a fanatic, no one trusts a fanatic. And touting phrases out of the Bible don't impress many. Remember, there are different versions of the Bible meant to fit different groups of people. the wording is probably different, but the Bible is a story book written to preserve the traditions of a race of people who thought they were headed for genocide. No one knows for sure if any of the stories are true or not. Cool if they are, cool if their not. No proof though.

Now as for the benefit of accepting Jesus in your heart as your personal savior that is eternity with god - not accepting him = eternity without him.

Since you read that about circumscision ; refer to this scripture below

(Romans 3:27-31)

Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. 31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Understand Paul was speaking to!
In his day just about the only ones that were circumcised lived in the LAW.
And even today thoes who live in the law will die in the law.

But if you can be reborn, into grace, then you will have everlasting life.

Christ being Jewish was also circumcised. So was Paul, the writer of Galatians.

Ephesians 2:8-22
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
One in Christ
11Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called "the uncircumcision" by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands-- 12remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15by abolishing the law of commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. 17And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. 19So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,[c] but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by[d] the Spirit.
