So I jog as long as half an hour to 45 minutes at night. I have asthma, so the speed and intensity depends on how I feel at that particular time. I've heard so many conflicting answers for my questions which are:

How much do you have to jog to lose weight permanantly.
Is it a longer length of steady speed, or short busrts of high intensity then walk in between the bursts?

And how long does it take for your body to get used to the level of excercise?
I've heard you have to increase the level every couple of months, but having asthma, I can't be running any marathons or doing excessive stair climbing. Also, there's only so much time you can devote to excersize per night, so if you can't increase intensity, and you can't increase length... what do you do? Do you take it up in intensity for a month, then go back down for a month.. and continue that way?

I'm stuck. I can't afford a personal trainer heheh :)
Any help would be appreciated!!

Asthma is a serious condition so you should take care. When trying to lose weight, the important thing is to lose the water that your body retains. In other words, sweat sweat sweat. Giving your asthma, increasing the intensity of your exercises might harm you. You can never lose weight and stay slim if you don't combine your sports with an adequate nutrition. That is a diet. No fats, no carbs, say yes to fruits and vegetables, yoghurt, nothing fried etc.
Always eat a fruit (apple, kiwi etc) in the morning, on an empty stomach. It helps to clean your body and your bowel from unwanted food. You can also try drinking a glass of water on an empty stomach. You have to drink a lot of fluids, and i don't mean coke, but water and tea (at least 1.5-2 L per day).
A healthy diet combined with some exercise will help you lose weight and gain some muscle mass (not excessive). This way you can give your body the shape you want it to have.
Eat in small quantities and at every 2 hours if possible.
During jogging, if that's your thing, always take breaks when you feel tired. Rest for 1 minute, then start again. That way, your respiration rate will come to normal and you can go on longer than you think. Don't over do it and remember that increasing the intensity is not the best thing knowing your condition.
Try working your muscles and eating healthier. I assure you weight will be lost.
Wishing you good health!
