Are you a diabetic? It could be symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. Diabetes is the number one cause but other things can cause it too. You may want to see a podiatrist.

This has been happening to me since childhood (30+ years). I don't know what brings it on. I'll have no itching for months (maybe even a year) and then all of a sudden I'll have 1-3 itchy nights and then nothing again for months. No itching during the day, the itchy feeling starts when I go to bed and it drives me crazy. If I get out of bed and do something, it goes away. Weird. I am otherwise healthy and my skin looks fine. In my case It's definitely not an allergy or bedbugs. My best guess is that mine is a form of "restless leg syndrome". In RLS syndrome they describe a "creepy crawly" feeling that sounds like what I get (even though I mostly get the feelings on my legs, I also get it on my arms and neck - to a lesser degree). Sorry I don't have an answer for you.

Rule out infection first. Secondly lack of trace elements in food might be the cause. Thirdly walk 10 paces before going to bed. Wearing unclean socks or ill-fitting shoes might be also the reason in some cases. Hope you are on the right side of age not to get problems of circulation, that affects tissues at end of the limbs.

Do you stay barefeet in daytime? This can be due to worm infection if so..Have you taken worm treatment lately? If not try that as well as if you wear socks, make sure to use clean socks always, and use antiseptic while washing them. Clean your feet daily with bit warm water-use soap or antiseptic with it before you go to bed.Make sure your bed sheet and cover are all clean and please sun dry them as soon as possible. You will get rid of this problem soon, all the best!!!

Athlete's foot is a condition that may be invisible to you. You have it. Use an antifungal.
If you scratch too much, athlete's foot becomes visible.

probably you're allergic to cotton from your comforter, or fabric, or something in your bed that makes your feet itch.
