Sitting in a chair that is more comfortable or more grand than chairs used by the congregation is hypocritical and wrong. No way is this in keeping with the teachings of Christianity. I pity those people.
Surely the people sitting in the cheap seats are the true Christians.
Patrick, I fear you could be a good man.

'Those' seats are reminiscent of the seats in the synagog that the SADDUCEES and the PHARISEES used to make such a great fuss over, where they would sit in the front of the crowd in big, beautiful chair and wear special robes with extra fringe and elaborate clothing, making show of themselves. Sounds awfully petty to me. I'm proud as I could be that you turned them DOWN! Shows me that you are more spiritually mature than they are. Good for you. I hope one day you find the true religion...

you are right, we are all one in christ, where we sit does not change that. choose your battles wisely, I applaud your humility, but at the same time, would it not be more beneficial to sit in one of those chairs and still be a humble equal to the rest of the congregation. I lead worship at my church, but I'm just another face once I'm done, that stature or impression of stature is meaningless, doing God's will has meaning and being one with the body has meaning.

To me my relationship to God is more important than where I sit to pray. I can be praying even while taking a walk or having a shower. whats important is how well can u connect to HIM and what relation you share with him. Its like in a pair of specs the lense is important rather than the metal of the frame holding it. Like in what you eat is important be it a fine china plate or a styrofoam plate.

It's definitely your relationship with GOD as I have discovered. I will be one of the crowd from now on, where I belong and surely know it as GOD as my witness. HE knows what happened and HE knows where I belong, which is with HIM no matter where he is. HIS chair is the most important to those who love HIM. And so it is written and so it shall be done......~p~

patrick w,one should not exalt oneself,we do respect and honor others, because or who and what they are.,if the president of usa came to your church would you not give him a seat of honor?should your pastor preach from the back pew?It requires more humility to be the king than to be the subject.DO YOU HAVE THE HUMILITY TO ACCEPT THIS HONOR???

in His eyes we are all equal; their after-life won't be any great than your's. just remember that when you look up at those ridiculously pretty chairs and try to find some comfort in it.
