One style of dress is considered sexually provocative in one culture, but considered modest in another.
Hudson Taylor (a Westerner) was a missionary to the Chinese in the 1800's. When he got to know the Chinese as friends, he learned that his leg-defining trousers were considered immodest in that culture, so he began wearing the down-to-the ground robes worn by the males in that country. Portraits of good Christian women of a few centuries ago show a lot more cleavage than anyone in the praise band at church is allowed to display.
"Naked came I into the world, and naked shall I return." I don't really care what I look like in front of Jesus, but in front of undivine men to whom I am not married, I try to dress in a way that is considerate, in a way that the culture I am in defines as "not sexually provocative." Some men are trying to reserve certain desires for their wives, and to keep themselves from looking at the other women around them as sex objects. It seems like the ladies who howl the loudest about sexual harrassment are the ones who dress like they want that kind of attention.

I don't think HE is thinking anything in particular about fashion. HE is too busy protecting and loving all those who believe in HIM. But when one is no longer on this earth, I can assure you that "if" you are privileged enough to even get anywhere "near" HIM, you will be dressed in "bright light" and be humbled before the presence of the Master of the universe for all eternity.......~p~

If Jesus being Jesus and understanding todays thinking, I don't think he would care what I would be dressed like as long as I was "good" inside. I would be dress like what I would very day. Maybe jeans T-shirt, maybe tracksuit bottoms, but not in a suit n tie

I never dress according to fashion, but to what I feel comfortable in.
I won't tell you my opinion on religion, but I don't think clothes really matter so much at the spiritual level.

Well, what if Jesus wants to see you in a robe and sandals? The suit and tie thing is what we, as humans, think is dressy.

Why should THEY care about styles? They don't have a column in Vogue...After all, they have a universe to rule.

I really don't think my clothes--or for that matter, anything outside--would be what Jesus was looking at.
