The yanks don't (can't) speak good English. They speak a bastardised version using words like "color" instead of the correct "colour". In fact, they seem to drop the "u" out of most things - must be all those supersize burgers making them fat and lazy. Oh, and "mom" as well - where the hell did they get that from? Just listen to George W when he's next on the TV - it's a great example of how NOT to speak English.
Also, try getting an American to say "Welwyn Garden City" (pronounced "well-in Garden City") or Leicester. It's hilarious.
Americans speak American-English. Awful accents as well. Very nasal.
The English speak good English (in places).

As someone pointed out already, you can't have both.
Either you speak like an American, or you speak very well.
But any English accent is laughed at by other English speakers.
Go for an educated Scottish or Irish accent, most people find them cute as well as funny. I imagine Sean Connery's voice is available in may countries.
Otherwise you go and listen to Eddy Murphy.

My best advice would be to rent movies from the 1940's and watch them and copy the intonation, pronunciation and grammar used.
For some reason these movies were outstanding examples of well-spoken American English. If you learn all you can from them you will speak better English than 95 percent of Americans in this day.
Don't try to learn from most current popular movies. They will teach you how not to speak English.

Watch a lot of television! Americans don't speak english anyway, they speak American. If you want to learn good english watch old english films! I swear watching films with subtitles is the best way to learn a language cos you can rewind it and watch it again until you get the pronunciation right!

if you speak it like americans, you don't speak it well.......it's far more better idea just to turn on BBC or some other British channel, even if it's Sky news, and just listen to people talking...trust me, that's the way their speach will get into your head (and they're the best to learn from because they have to speak correctly), that's how I learnt English in the first place, and I'm not from an English-speaking country, nor have I ever lived in one.
