It sounds to me like your pregnancy is progressing normally, right on track. I too experienced these symptoms that you say. That pain you feel would probably be the baby's head pressing on your cervix or on a nerve. It's hard to say when you will go into labour, at the moment everything you say is normal for that stage of pregnancy.
If I were you, I would try to relax as much as possible and get heaps of rest and sleep. I don't know if this is your first child but you won't be getting any sleep after the baby comes. It'll be all go, go, go.
A lot of baby's engage down into the pelvis at this stage so don't worry, everything sounds normal.

You don't want to have your son soon, because it is too soon for him to be born until you are at least 36 weeks.
The mucus plus is constantly discharging and reforming, so no big deal on that account. The sharp poking may mean that the baby is breech, in which case be sure your doc determines the position of the baby at your visit tomorrow. There are exercises that you should do that will turn the baby to the head down position.

Everyone is telling you that it is too soon for labor. I disagree. I just had my daughter 3 weeks ago and I was only 29 weeks along. The only labor symptom I was having was a very light menstrual cramp every 10 minutes. It didn't hurt really. Just enough to annoy me. I didn't do anything about it for a few hours and one of the lady's at work talked me into calling my dr. I ended up going in and was dialated already 4 centimeters. I was in labor. They tried to stop it with shots and magesium, but it didn't stop it. I just thank the Lord that I went in instead of blowing it off as "fake labor" because 36 hours later I had my daugther. Where I was only 29 weeks along they had to fly me to a different hospital that had an NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) because at my hosptial they couldn't have cared for my daughter because she was so early. If I hadn't went in, they may not have had time to fly me and I'm afraid to think of what would have happened to her. I'm not an expert as this is my first baby, but just thought I'd tell you my experience.
** I don't drink or smoke or do any kind of drugs. Babies come early for reasons we dont' know too sometimes**
Hope things go good! And Congrats!

I think you are getting ready, but that it will still be a couple of weeks. These contractions you are having are getting your cervix ready, but are not serious enough to actually push your baby out yet. The stabbing pain in the cervix is normal. The discharge is probably not your mucous plug - your plug will look like a giant gross banana slug. YOu will know it when you see it!
