A martyr has been murdered for standing up for what he believes is right, whereas a "saint" is likely a title given to someone by a church, or else he is a party-goer in New Orleans and they're playing ""When the Saints Come Marching In."

A martyr is loco for blowing themselves up and a saint has common sense but can be a martyr by standing strong thru persecutions and being killed because of their beliefs.

Technically they are the same in that they both give their lives to God, one through dying for God and the other through living a life for God. All martyrs are saints but not all saints are martyrs.

their spelling?

honestly... a martyr is someone giving up his life for a cause. either a religious belief, a philosophical belief, a nationalistic belief, a political belief, etc...

a saint, on the other hand, is people revered and devoted with the lord's message, live his life spreading the good news of the lord and died for God's cause alone.

In the Christian faith - a martyr is someone who dies or is killed for his/her faith (not by suicide) and a saint is a believer.
