depends on the severity and duration. If you're able to purge your system by praying to the porcelin god (toilet) and some rest then it'll be ok. I'd also recommend alka seltzer and charcol pills as the alka will help you feel better but the charcol will absorb all the poisons. If it perisist hours on end, then seek emergency attention as they will have to give you something really powerful or in the worst case pump your stomache. I got 3 bouts of food poisoning during 2 sememester of college. I ended up at 3-5am each time in the ER, wretching bile, and they gave me benedryl, chrlorotetrazine, then morphine each time. I've also had bad sushi and purged my system and was fine after an hour. Again if you're not able to empty your system within a few hours, then seek medical attention.

I work as an EMT on a 911 system. Although you feel awful, it's not an emergency. You call 911 for that, you will still go to the ER and sit and wait since it's not life threatening. Anyone who comes in with something more important will be seen before you.
Food poisoning is one of those things that your body naturally will fight off. That's why you can't leave the bathroom when it happens. Good luck, take some pepto, drink lots of water and sleep the next day.

I got food poisoning once, in fact half my family did. We all ate at jack in the box and everyone who had a burger got sick that night. Those bastards undercooked our meat. Anyway, you dont need to. Your just gonna feel like crap for about a day or so. I threw up everything in my stomach....after I didn't have anything left, I suspect the stomach acid was gone too, I woke up every 30 minutes with dry heaves all night.
Food poisoning is a sucky experience, but it wore off after a day for all of us.

It's not necessary but its better to to insure there is nothing wrong in your systems. Food poisoning can be caused by many bacteria so its better to go to the doctor. If not try to make yourself throw up by sticking your finger(spoon) to your back of your throat. This will initiate the gag reflex making you throw up. Thus you will empty the contents of your stomach.
I hope was of help.

It's worth it because otherwise you would be gambling with your life. And it already happened, so why even ask yourself a question like this, let alone others? There's nothing you can do about it now. Don't feel guilty.

Depends on if it is your first time. I generally wait 24 hours to see if I am feeling better. But if it gets bad - call 911 !

Please see the webpages for more details on Fod poisoning. If there is acute dehydration consequent on vomiting and diarrhea, then it is necessary to admit the victim to the nearest hospital.

It depends on what you think you became sick on, if it was chicken or seafood, you should go get checked, there are harmful bacteria that could lead to worse things.
Better safe than sorry.

its all a matter of degrees, usually you get a stomach ache, barff and poop for a day or so, if it goes past 24 hrs or you feel faint, etc, go to the emergency room.
