OMG, that sure would explain a lot. I thought it might be a bad idea to take in a bunch of fruit on my diet, and I didn't lose much weight at all. Got lots of healthy vitamins, but not much weight loss. Hmm. I think that maybe cutting back on fruit and going for water instead of juice would help.,

FRUIT WILL NOT MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT. there is no way, fruit is very good for you, yes, some fruits are higher in sugar than others but it doesnt matter they are still good and dont make you gain weight. If you want to see better results though i suggest replacing your meals with SALAD instead of fruits, or a combination of both. as for your friends the atkins diet promotes only eating protein and is therefore only a temporary weight loss because as soon as you start eating anything but protein ur body stores it as fat. one more thing. i really suggest giving up fruit juice, most brands on the market are actually filled with sugar that will make you gain weight, it is not made of natural fruits even though they claim to do so. I suggest giving up every drink and only sticking to water. you will see a tremendous weight loss if you start drinking atleast 8 glasses of water a day, not to mention it will make your skin glow because you are eatinig your fruits and veggies! good luck

Listen. Stay away from juice. Eat the fruits. Stick to strawberries, blueberries, an apple and so on. Exercise; try to walk 35 minutes a day 4 to 5 days a week if you are not into gyms.
Do not listen to the Atkins naysayers. They are so wrong and brainwashed it makes my head spin. See link to article on sugar I am providing.
If you reduce your carbs and start getting headaches eat a little more fruit but please don't overdo it. Try to limit carbs to 72 to 100 grams a day. The lower the better. NO JUICES, unless you squeeze them yourself! Fresh squeezed is best but don't buy store bought one because you are getting too much. You will gain weight for sure unless you exercise more. Only exception: V8 and again, watch the carb count.

The sugars in fruits are good for you. Vegetable may be more beneficial to your weight loss plan, though, since they do contain less sugar. In the end though, all you need to worry about is eating a healthy balance of food and getting regular exercises. Cut down of fat and junk food. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Limit red meat. Burn more calories than you take in. If you do all this, you will lose weight AND stay healthy.
Good luck!!

Fruits are not going to cause you to put on weight,as long as you exercise too. Add also plenty of vegetables to your diet.
