As a christian it is common knowledge, that we are sinners. Although we spend our life trying to perfect our imperfections by the grace of Jesus Christ. We will never be perfect like him until we are resting in him. Yet we do have our moments. Although, there are those of us who still suffer. Honestly, I have a problem with pornography. If you were to ask me about it though, I'd say it's terrible, it should be illegal, and especially more regulated on the internet. Some would call me a hypocrite, when in fact I'm standing up for my belief. Just because I fall into temptation doesn't mean I like it. We are called hypocrites for things of that nature.Yet were the things we rallying against, yet still suffer with, were more consciously eliminated by the public would we not have more time, energy, and money to be well spent on real problems?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, a christian who practices his faith, but slips up is only a human. He's trying.Who's the real hypocrite?

I'm going to admit that I suffer from the same thing and feel the same as do you about making it illegal etc. I don't know how old you are and if you have kids or not but suppose that you do, or will, have kids. Now picture that nude (whatever) picture as being your daughter. How would that make you feel? Would you still look at it? Would you tell her that you approve of what she is doing? I do have daughters and the above thought has helped me to stop going to pornographic sights. Also: Picture your own mother or a sincere Christian, your pastor, Billy Graham----sitting next to you. Would you look at those things? These thoughts have helped me too. Does Christ see what we do? I think you know the answer to that.

Christians invented hypocracy.

You say killing is bad, but your Christian president made a decision that has killed over 100,000 innocent Iraqis.

You say all people are god's children, yet you tell people that tehy will burn in hell if they don't believe in what you believe.

Killing is wrong, but the overwhelming number of Christians in the state of Texas have no problem with being the state that executes the most people in the country.

How can you not be hypocrites.

Look at how Jesus forgave prostitutes and sinners in general. Remember how he asked the real hypocrites around him why they wanted to stone a woman for adultery. (I in no way want to criticize Jews since Jesus and the disciples were Jews and were dealing with the religious and political officials of their time.)

Of course Judas was the biggest hypocrites since he sold Jesus out for gold and envy.

Sins of the flesh, while a problem, pale in the presence of hatred, bigotry, and malicious slander. So keep praying to resist temptation, my brother.

Because there is a deep divide between what Christians say they believe in, and in the actual action of Christianity in the world.

No one expects you to be perfect. But when you say "Thou shall not kill" and then have rallies for the death penalty, that's not people being imperfect. It's hypocrisy.

When you say "love one another" and then whine about gay marriage, that is hypocrisy.

When you say that the commandments prohibit idols and images of deity, and then erect crucifixes and statues and paintings of Jesus, that is hypocrisy.

When you say you want to create a "culture of life," and then support a war that unnecessarily kills thousands, that's hypocrisy.

And so on.

The hypocrisy most people are referring to isn't personal hypocrisy, committed by Christians, but organizational hypocrisy, committed by Christianity.

If you REALLY want an answer... let me endeavor into the realm of clarification. Most of the time, a person's beliefs are CONSISTENT but not so for those deemed hypocrites.

For example, if you claim to be Pro-Life, as most so-called Christians CLAIM to be, it should also include adults, for example, criminals. JC would extend this same charity to those most despised, criminals, murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc. Convicted criminals who are put to death cannot ever be brought back to life if someone else later proves his/her guilt or that he/she lied or if DNA evidence clearly demonstrates that person's innocence, as has happened on a number of occasions but the first ones to cry out for "justice" in the form of the death penalty when a Black person, a Hispanic or some other poor person is found guilty of some heinous crime is concerned... WITHOUT regard for life but with revenge in thought (which I thought was Unchristian) for the victims (which cannot and will not be brought back to life by the taking of another, even the perpetrator).

Likewise, those Pro-Life advocates are the first to scream and yell the loudest when someone is accused of murder, rape or some other heinous crime... guilty by accusation? ANYONE can be ACCUSED of a crime, even the innocent, or some poor ignorant, uneducated and/or emotionally disturbed and/or psychologically unbalanced and/or retarded person that cannot adequately provide a fair defense! How about those cases where witnesses have lied or some witnesses have not come forward (for whatever reason, they did not receive a notice, the authorities did not know/remember them, an overzealous prosecutor dd not WANT them to testify so he/she could win an important case and get publicity at the expense of an innocent person, DNA evidence is not available... etc)? Death is final and you cannot bring back the innocent; where's the Christian charity for those accused of a heinous crime, even those guilty? All of a sudden you believe in separation of church and state, just for them but not for abortion issues?

Also, there's the situation where some over-zealous Pro-Life individuals, yes, usually of some Christian denomination, try to impose their personal beliefs on others and on governmental affairs but won't give that same courtesy to other religions? "My way or no way"? "Take it, like it or else"? But you'd cry out the moment someone tried to impose THEIR beliefs on you or your children? Where's the fairness in that?

WHERE are these supposed Christians when someone who is a non-White comes to America to find a job to feed his family and provide a better livelihood for his family and children, just as the forefathers of many Americans have done through the ages? Why, for example, are Canadians who cross the borders and overstay here (legally or "illegally") are not called "illegal" yet people of color or Hispanic backgrounds are? What is the difference for such Christian thought? Some would call this discrimination or racism or simply not fair... My goodness, how quickly you forget the Ten Commandments for those who only want to do the same as your forefathers did...

Why is it that when minority members are cheated out of wages, the first thing someone will ask is, "Are you here legally" instead of asking, "What happened, HOW were you cheated?" That kind of questioning sides with the possible perpetrator of a crime (not paying a wage after the work was done) or at getting at the root of the problem for purposes of dispensing justice or simply being fair.

Those are just a few issues that some have insofar as Christians ("better than thou") CONSISTENCY are concerned. Fairness to you and to hell with the world? Is that what being a Christian is all about nowadays? Goodness, I must read the Christian Bible again... I must've missed a chapter or something!

You want those that come here to learn English yet you refuse to learn Spanish when you visit their countries and expect THEM to speak your language...? Wait. If you want them to learn your language (Standards American English), why don't you insist that YOUR elected officials do away with Bi-Lingual Studies and English as a Second Language so that these children will be FORCED to learn as the many that came here after the 1900s did? By the way, while you're at it, why don't you make sure that your teachers are educators and can also speak Standard American English as a matter of National course and practice and mandated by law by demanding that YOUR elected officials pass educational bills to this effect? Do away with translating government paperwork (save on labor, paper, time, etc)? Also include your law personnel that mumble more than communicates. I can sit here and TELL you how to run your life the same way Christians pretend others how to live and carry out their affairs, too!

The real hypocrite is the one who consciously tries to live in sin but appear righteous to the world. Jesus directed some of His harshest criticism as such people, of whom many of the Pharisees were probably the best (or worst) examples.

That's your problem...you - like many others - excuse your guilt with your religion and humanity. And typically, the only way Christians see fit to excuse their guilt is by attempting to ban, control, or legally regulate their weaknesses.

So yes, you're a hypocrit.
You fail to see the difference between right and wrong...
you allow yourself to be wrong with the comfort of knowing you can "pray about it and be forgiven"...and carry things a step further and say it should be banned, controlled, made illegal...so you won't fall into your own Christian weekness.

Stop making decisions for other people and live your life right first.

I don't know what your issue has to do with Christ, but a classic example of a hypocritical act is to criticize others for carrying out some action while carrying out the same action oneself. Do you criticize others for looking at porn and then look at it yourself? If you do you're a hypocrite.

they show 2 faces when it is coming to the subject of atheism or different religion:

they say bad words about other people while their religion is supposed to teach them love and patience

they put troops to another countries to make more conflicts under the motto" struggle with terrorism"

they are money minded while Jesus told them to do charity

they take from Bible only those what they are said ignoring other parts

People love to label others. It gives them a sense of false security. Sinners who follow the faith are indeed working toward perfection and the rough is extremely rough. Hang in there and I will too. Our temptations can get the best of us, but it does not get the God- of us.Never lose your faith and always get up with the strength of God and the will not to return to sin.
