yes they can the gun regesters the speed and he looks at his speedo and the differance is how fast you are going like you are doing 55 and the cop coming toward you is doing 55 the gun will regester 110 mph he knows you are going 55 ok

yes some of the cars radar guns are tied into the cars computer and it takes the speed the car is moving and averages it with the radars car to get the speed the other cars moving at, some cars even have a rear radar too so they can get ya when your behind them

the first poster is correct, BUT its not all that accurate, because car speedometers are not all that accurate, especially at the far ranges of their sweeps.
