All the time. If there really was a god why would terrible things happen to good people or innocent children.

I've never believed god was an entity, so to speak. I do believe that he created everything on earth, the universe, etc. However, I don't beleive in the typical god that needs to be feared, etc. I am an orthodox Jew, and I do pray to god. Sometimes my prayers are answered, sometimes they are not. I stopped thinking of god as a person a long time ago, and started to notice him in other places. He is in the sun that shines through my window, the wind that rustles the leaves on the trees, the sound of the ocean and rivers. He is not a person, he just simply IS...god is life!
peace and love,
rivka

Feelings alone are dangerous for such an important question. You need to search as an adult. If there is no god did you just make yourself? Follow both possibilities and see what is more reasonable. You get back to an uncaused cause and an unmoved mover, other names for god. But that is only the foundation for faith. Faith is based on reason but goes beyond it. So you have some homework/lifework that is important so you don't just drift into meaninglessess. The journey is exciting but you have to ask hard questions, and search for solid answers.

I don't believe in God even though I was bought up in a Christian family.
I believe religions are used to control people and let me tell you, there are many damaged people as a result of religion.
I was sexually abused over a period of time by a priest and now look back with horror at the way the church deceived both myself and my family.
Get rid of religion and we would not have all the conflicts and wars.

hey dude, a qus 4 u- who created yr body?, yr mom n dad will b ya ans.lol. n who did their body, ull say thats their father n mom, but if u go beyond n b'nd then ull find that nature has created the living beings, coz not only us but all livin being's body is made of 5 elements of nature, so the indded truth in all religen is nature created us, if so then y some r happy n som r not leading a gud life, coz our soul{ aathma} is ruled by god if u do som harsh work 2 others{living bein} then that action certainly reflect to another action n thus u suffer,so, nature created us , god created nature n now a days v ppl 4get that truth n hurting d nature itself!!, as 4 as reaserch of great universities,, the indian mythology is older than any other, n the siva lingam is a simbol combined of all other god's resemblence{only human created diff type of god , n jesus , budha, mahavier r all messangers from god who all did same work but only their time appearence differs}

There are many people who are unconvinced one way or the other- they are called agnostics. Others are convined that no such being exists- and they are called atheists. There are plenty of both.
Some would say the real question is "what about this existence would lead one to believe that there is a god"?

God & Religion is just an excuse used by man from the beginning of times to fulfill his selfish motives, there would be no religions if there were no gods, and if there was no religion there would not been so many deaths & wars, maybe earth would be a more peaceful place to live on. all the people who say god gave me this, god gave me that, god saved my life........etc, dont realize that its their good karma that did it, not god.

ha! sometimes i wonder too...
i was raised lutheran - baptized, communioned and all...
as of 2000, my faith came under hard self-questioning after a friend killed himself on his 18th birthday. i can't say for sure that this event was the cause of my abandonment, it may have definitely contributed. i really think it happened when i plummeted into a deep depression of my own, one that i still fight today. i have had some VERY intensely hard moments, and i have come to believe that we unltimately have ourselves.
for a god to kill its own son, crap happens, you want us to pray to you, then THEN, if you feel like it (which you rarely do), you *might* make stuff right...then we're supposed to kiss your *** afterwards?? egotistical much?
when you pray, and nothing happens, nothing...you begin to wonder if any of it is even true, if there is anything even f**king up there...so you stop praying and believeing...and still nothing changes...then you realize...there was nothing to pray to in the first place, and if there was, it certainly didn't give a flying f**k about you!.
how many people have died/been tortured for the name of god? how many people have twisted the bible to fit their nasty plans?
wtf man??
it is true that churches in medieval times suckered people into giving money for "soul cakes", through scare tactics. people were burned alive or tortured, to force others to convert. a few of those in positions of power abuse their roles, and a few even molest children...it's disgusting.
we live in a sick world. thank the "great planner" for that one. ha.

You have a purpose, and you have the right to read about religion and study what it is people talk about. Don't listen to what people say, read for yourself. You make the choice and please don't get hooked up on anly preacher/spiritual leader. ALL people have faults so don't every put your trust or faith in someone, check it out for yourself. Jesus loves you boo!
Adding a link for you to check out. There are some scriptures and some good teachings but check it out for yourself on other web sites. Sounds like you just need some facts to make your decision with. Good luck!
