I had this problem with 4 of a litter. We sadly lost them all. All you can do is find another vet for a second opinion immediately. If you don't, once fluid has begun to come from their noses there is not much time.

Just so people know who read this, even dogs who ARE vaccinated can get this awful disease. It is that bad. Green diareah could possibley mean solids are not being digested at all and your seeing bile? Or perhaps the antibiotics are causing this odd color? I would ask your vet if you can get ANOTHER iv bag for the day he is gone. If he has let you do this so long, why not another day? I believe that is keeping your dog alive. You can try giving kaopeptic-for people, or for dogs found at petsmart. It can help firm up the stools and I have heard some have some success with this. Also look for a product called Dyne-a nutrition suppliment or maybe nutracal (but it is not as good as Dyne). Ask your vet maybe about those. They can help supply vitamins to your puppy. Keep him warm and clean (I am sure you allready doing that though. :D) and talk with your vet. If your vet let you take him home, I am sure he can give you an extra bag for the days he will be away. I wish you and your baby a speedy recovery. Good luck

Try propping him up so he is sitting. Much like a baby. When a baby is stuffy and congesting you higher the head of the bed. By propping the pup up you are allowing the fluids in the lungs to drain. Someone may have to hold him to do this though.

Feeding, buy a can of carnation evaporated milk, add about 1 tsp. corn syrup to the milk. Get yourself a couple of puppy baby bottles. warm the milk slightly and feed.

But as far as the fluid on the lungs goes. The pup may need some antibiotics. So seek out a second opinion a.s.a.p.

As a person, I have had fluid on the lungs several times. Dietary recommendations include eating fresh fruits and vegetables, adequate protein, and good quality fats (omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory and are found in fish and flax oil). Contrast hydrotherapy applied to the chest and back, along with compresses can assist in the healing process. Ephedra has been used on me to open up blood vessels and clear the chest for breathing. Of course this is what works for humans, but perhaps something can be applied to your precious puppy as well.

Momma knows when her babies are ill...and that's why she pushed them away. FROM EXPERIENCE if you save these pups they will have a miserable puppyhood, and possibly health issues all through their lives. If you were intending on selling these pups, you would likely get them returned later on to you for being constantly ill. Let momma do what she does...and if they pass on, it's a blessing, if not, prepare for problems later on. I saved two pups like this, fed them every 2 hours, and they ended up being euthanized 8 weeks later with pneumonia.
