Retirement from your job does not mean that you retire from living life. It signifies that you have earned and slogged and made a living and saved for the family and your future. It is a gift to you now of a space and time to get down to the business of really doing things you love without the fear of earning enough and wielding power. See Murthy---he has stepped down but has not stopped his activity or pursuits--he will continue to be fruitfully busy but the difference is in the fields he now pursues.
The word Khotta sikka or vegetable has come from the fact that most retirees become couch potatoes and slobs, gossip and eat alot, talk excessively and always complain. Go check this out.
