Is it common for my sex drive to be lower while on Depo. I didn't notice it until my husband came back from being deployed. Its messing up our marriage because he feels like I am not attracted to him anymore. Seriously it went from having sex every day to me only wanting it maybe once a week.

My wife has been on the Depo for awhile, the military really pushes it, but her sex drive went to hell in a hand basket real quick. It took me awhile to come to the realization that it wasn't anyones fault. I found a web site that has alot of peoples horror stories you should check it out: http://www.io.com/~wwwomen/contraception/depo.html
Oh an my wife is coming off of it this month! Good luck

I was on Depo for 6 months and I don't remember a reduced sex drive but it did turn me into a frothing b**ch. I think my man would have left me if I would have stayed on it. It was like a had roid rage like a guy or something. I wouldn't recommend this form of birth control to anyone and I would advise to just take the pill. It's been very effective for me for the last 5 years.

I was on Depo for 2 years and it didn't lower my sex drive at all, but I had other horrible side effects. It took months for me to get back to normal after I stopped getting the shot.

hmm when you say "depo", do you mean "depression"?? If it is, then my ans is yes...depression rerflexs on your sex drive... because the people who has depression tends to have low self esteem about thier physical appearance, mental thinking and emotional feelings... depression will be the cause on how they treat other people... and for this, thier sex life too can be affected... they tend to not wanting to have sex with thier partner often... they tend to get grumpy, depressed, cry and because of this, some of the women will lead to sucide as the only option... For this case, my advise to you is to talk to your husband on your problems and explain to him deeply on how you felt since the it occur... it is very important for both partner to communicate and understand each other if they want thier marriage last and be a happy one... talk to your husband...tell him what you are going throuhg...explain to him... And after that, go to the doctor a family consultant with your husband and express how you feel or felt... remember to be open with and truthful.... hope my advises help...good luck and takecare!
