A marriage is a promise made between two individuals to be there and accept responsibility for anything that crosses your path as a couple - good or bad, sick or healthy, able or disabled.
In a BF/GF relationship, when the chips are down it is easy to turn a blind eye and walk away and not accept responsibility.
Whether the sanctity of marriage is valued is individual based, and only you know if a difference exists. If you do not wish to obligate yourself in a commitment and accept whatever responsibility the relationship incurs, then marriage is not for you.
Only you know your intentions - and whether your feelings for your partner are sincere or conditional.

Well, when you are bf/gf you can still play the field, nothing is set in stone. But when you marry someone that is when you decide you want to be with no one but them. So I would have to say the only difference (beside all of the financial things involved) would be that there is a stronger love involved, atleast when the marriage is based on the right reasons and not just because someone has alot of money, etc.

Marriage is a much deeper commitment. Then there are lots of people who wait till have sex till their married. Theres much more responsibility in a marriage then there is when it comes to dating someone. Marriage is official dating is not.

Well i think a marriage is different than just b/f g/f because both persons are willing to commit to eachother for life.Instead of a couple of months or years.

Major difference is wish and responsibility and wish, responibility and promise. in a love relationship we be with each other when we wish to do so. we partially take each others responsibility. but marriage is a committment for lifetime.

depends on your morals and ethical code you live by. if you have none, there is no difference. if your word means anything, if you are true to yourself, marriage is a life commitment. as opposed to I can walk out on you at any time, with no remorse.

a married couple will normally have spent thousands of dollars getting married, and probably thousands when it comes to splitting up.
a b/f and g/f don't have this expense.
and the sex... you tend not to get so much sex once ur married
