You know, little one, you're not alone. There are millions of people, your age and older, who are going through the same thing. And there are NO stupid questions (unless your questions are aimed at getting a rise out of someone). I would suggest reading the whole book of John in the New Testament. Read it slowly, stopping to think about what you've read. The Bible isn't like a normal book, read and put aside. It's a living book, meant to be a part of your daily life. As you get more familiar with it, you know where to go for guidance and wisdom. You'll know where to get comfort and strength. Then, ask God to guide you and help you to understand what you've read. The Bible says that if you truly seek Him, you will find Him. He knows your heart and understands you more than even you do. Find a Bible teaching church, one that believes in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Have someone there help you understand what you've read. You see, the only way to find the answers you're looking for is in the Bible. People can often be wrong, but the Bible will never give you bad information. God's ways are often confusing, but that's where faith comes from, and God will give you all you'll ever need to trust in His ways. We will never understand everything, but it's not necessary to know it all first, before we give our lives to Him. You learn as you go, sort of like learning a new computer program. My son is an expert with the computer, but even he doesn't know everything. That doesn't stop him from dealing with the computer though. He learns as he goes. I can tell you from my own experience that I would never trade the life I now have in Christ for anything in the world. And though I still have trouble and problems, I now have Him to guide me through it. I'm NEVER alone, even in the tough times. From experience, I can say that there is a God, Satan does exsist, as does heaven and hell, and you CAN have a personal relationship with God through His Son. I was baptized when I was 33, so it's never too late. And I'm no longer afraid to die because I know He'll be there to greet me. <*)))><

Different people believe in god for different reasons. If you want to believe in god though remember this doesn't mean you have to follow organised religion. The major religions of the world are all based around very old books with little relevance to the modern world. The way these books are treated means they are not open to modification or correction despite obvious problems within all of them. You should also try to see how the behaviour of these organisations works out... taking Christianity as your apparently most likely choice if we look at it objectively it's supposedly provided for the poor and helped people become closer to a benevolent god for approximately 2000 years.
If we actually look at the past though the church is responsible for murdering millions of women over the years simply by burning them at the stake for being "witches" etc... they have also used violence, indoctrination and rape to spread Christianity throughout the world in less complex times and they have collected and pillaged wealth from there victims to such an extent that the Vatican is practically made entirely out of gold.
If you want to believe in god - and god is real - then each human would be able to connect through themselves in there own way - god would have built this into every animal he made if he wanted us to do it. Following the "teachings" of any made up organisation or business who have demonstrated time and again a complete disregard for there own philosophies be it 10 or 10,000 years old is not a good idea though in my opinion.
Looking at death from my point of view (the non-religious) when we die our bodies shut down and our atoms begin to disassemble from each other.... our atoms never die though and for all intents and purposes never will.... although atoms themselves aren't actually alive they make up everything - but the universe cannot make more... it is the ultimate recyclable material and nature ensures that none of them go to waste.
When we die our atoms go off to be parts of other things such as trees, the air we breathe, foxes, snails, new people, cycle shorts, and even stars which is essentially where all of our atoms have come from in the first place anyway) - does this natural and frankly much more sensible reasoning not provide some comfort as an alternative well?

If people believe strongly enough that there is a god then they will "find" god. If they believe strongly enough that there is an anti god or satan than they will "find" that anti god or satan. The two problems are that peoples idea of god is often too grounded in the 5 senses and nobody can agree on how to percieve god. They end up focusing their faith and prayers on personal things instead of praying for the greater good, and most believe the prayers of other faiths dont count even if the subject of the prayer is the same. Its like were all trying to shoot a single target a billion times but were all firing in different directions.
Find a religeon that hasn't been soured by greed. You don't have to go with the religeon you were born into. Find a religeon that believes in the greater good and doesnt get caught up in meaningless complications, like the moral consequences of eating shrimp - http://www.godhatesshrimp.com/
(theyre for real)

Yes if you are confused joining the band of Christians will sort you out!!
I assume you will also believe that Jesus was and is God? You will also believe Jesus was his own Son? Jesus is the Holy Ghost??
I dont think you really believe (or even know about) any of that, but you must if you want to be a Christian.
You can believe in God without all the trappings of any church or religious group, or without the 'help' of any cult.
You can also believe in Satan and the idea of heaven or hell! Go ahead, believe, just dont try and convince me to follow your lead!

This is really a question of what works for you, for some people a belief in god is not something of personal worth, for others it is a source of joy. The other aspect to this is how do you see 'god' there are different ways of invisioning god depending on what religion you find works for you, heck you can take a less defined route and build your own personal philosophy around the concept
It matters little, in my opinion, which you choose so long as it works for you, adds to your life positively.

OK, well first of all this is not a stupid question. you have a right to ask or not or even wonder. now the choice is up to you. Don't be afraid of death though were all gonna go in that direction, think of it as a wake from a life long dream, there's so much that hold for us on the other side. find the religion you find yourself best fit in. in my shoes I'm more of what you call Spiritual, i take my own steps in god, he connects with you so don't be afraid to talk to him to let it all out.when your highly depressed speak it out.
its best you believe in god, because ..and i wont say anything that will scare you at all . but the reason you should or chose to is because you have the choice to do so. and whatever that choice is. God is with you, forever following you. take care in that journey your not alone, I'm still riding this roller coaster. so luck for both of us. don't run see within yourself.

Stop believing everything you are told. Don't ask other people if you should believe in god. Of course the xtians & the muslims will try to force you to acknowledge their god. Grow up and think for yourself. Make rational decisions. No one can prove there is/is not a satan, is/is not a god, is/is not a heaven or hell. Why be afraid of something that no one can prove?
If you need a religion, please choose one that does not demand you stop thinking for yourself, 100% obediance. That's a cult, no matter what fancy name it has.
As an atheist, I stopped believing when I was 8 years old and haven't seen any reason to change my mind.
Stop believing the stories as absolute fact. Use your head.

You dont have to get baptized, christened, etc. to be saved--all you have to do is believe! I'm a Christian, and believe in God, and have personally experienced Him--He is real. The very fact that you're scared about death and asking these questions seems to me a sign of God drawing you to Him--He loves you and wants you to come to Him!

Yes you should believe in God.
use your consciouse and your mind, think can a building be built automatically or can anything happen without something.
This world is trial for all human beings, a test if you fail to know yourself and God your place is hell. If you find out your identity you find God within you, you go to heaven.
Decide now, do not delay!
Make some study and research read about other religions and think which is true.
