For sure you're not going to be able to bring any liquids, gels or aerosols beyond the security check point, also if you buy any liquids like soda or water even if they are not open you wont be able to get them pass the gate entrance.
I also recommend that you check with BA because I heard recently that they were banning all carry-on items and only allowing a lap size personal item to be brought on to the plane.

You should also visit the TSA website www.tsa.gov for the latest info about traveling

You cannot bring food or liquids of any kind, so forget those. You can bring on a laptop, cellphone, or other electronics, as long as they are turned off during the appropriate time. Hope that helps!

MP3 player or i Pod, laptop, a book, and magazines -lots of them if you have a 10 hour flight.

almost nothing !!!!!!!!!!
you can carry yourself, the cloths on your body, after frisking, may be your purse, {which should be quite thin and light or they may think you are on your way to sponsor some one to do naughty things.
when will it be that they declare "Passengers" in the forbidden items list ??????
