Yes, but only a small amount of liquid children's Benadryl. Mix it with ice cream (vanilla) and he should lick it right up.

I've dealt with this before at the kennel that i worked for, What you do is give him the adult recomended dosage on schedual of beledral and give him an asprin every 3-4 hours. it'll be fine in 12-24 hours. don't be worried, this is what the vet tells you to do most of the time with ANY kind of bug bite or sting, or anything that includes swelling, also, take a warm - hot damp cloth and get that stinger out by rubbing with mild pressure against the stinger, it can be dangerous to leave it in, especially incase of allergy. take care hope this helps.

Call your vet first. Benedryl is pretty strong, and maybe the vet could recommend something a little easier on the stomach, especially for a puppy.

It should be just fine to give the pup Benedryl. I give my little male Shih-tzu Childrens liquid Benedryl for his allergies (he gets the same dosage as a child under 2 gets and he weighs 18 lbs). I would call the vet though to make sure what the dosage would be for your pup, just to make sure.

My dog hunts and eats bees, spiders, bull ants, anything creepy crawly, and has done since she was a pup. she's been stung a few times and you'd think she'd click, but she plays with them, tossing them round the yard before eventually eating them. She's had no long term problems, still does it. One time i was sitting on the floor watching TV with the lights down, and she got up real slowly and started sniffing round my leg. I looked and saw this HUGE orange, bumpy spider crawling towards my leg. Eergh... thanx again Roxx.

I wouldn't. The swelling will subside. Don't panic over this.

It should be, but try to call a vet. I have a friend who gives her black lab benadryl.
