Go to Mercato di San Lorenzo. Their stuff is good, but bargain till death for the price... I'm sorry to say they have 3 price ranges: one for international tourists, one for Italian tourists, and one for Fiorentini...

If you are looking for designer stuff, there is a great Factory Outlet mall 30 minutes from Florence:
