when asked a question they just spill out the same verses, and refuse to use their reason. isnt this a sign of being brainwashed?

i think their favourite may be John 1:1. When you tell them that christian scholars say that John's gospel was written over 100 years after jesus, and that this verse is the authors opinion it doesnt make a difference. they refuse to reason. same with john 3:16 and many others

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Organized religion is the biggest cult. More people are killed in the name of god than for any other reason. Some people want to believe in a higher power so bad they will trust whatever a "religious figure" tells them. Very sad.
I mean come on, every animal ever created was put on ONE boat? And if the people on the boat were the only ones to survive and they were all related then didn't family members have to have sex with each other to re-start the human race? So we are all products of incest anyway because if Adam and Eve were the only people on earth, then didn't Cain or Abel have to sleep with Eve (their mother) to even start the human race in the first place? But a virgin birth is true?
Christians can't answer these questions because they aren't taught them by their "cult master" - it makes them uneasy. Anything involving logic and reason is devilish.
Have a brain of your own and think for your self.
By the way, I was raised a southern baptist - christian - until I grew up and realized you shouldn't always believe what you are told!!

I feel that I was brainwashed. I like the Bible and Jesus and anything spiritual, but don't like the people always telling me what God thinks...as if they know! How come they don't give me the same answer if they are using the same source?!?! Andy why so many different sects? Isn't there just one Bible? I love how they generalize other religions like Muslims, but they themselves are divided more than any other religion.

As for scriptures, if you show them a verse that makes sense and refutiates their view, they just tell us to shut up or take our noses out of the Bible. A lot of them are just like the Scribes that Jesus always called hypocrites and that he condemned.

I don't think God wants others to tell me what to believe. I'll just believe him...

Some are more self aware than others. I know Christians that do not bonk you over the head with the bible and can hold rational as well as pleasant conversation.

Now there are some in which it is difficult to talk to without their attempting to justify their words with biblical passages. In such instances I encourage them to tell me what they believe in there own words. Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons in proselytizing mode are usually the worst offenders as they have been taught to try to convert you via a systematized method.

My broker is a Mormon though and he is totally able to related on a normal level. I guess my point is not to over generalize but to acknowledge it can be a problem to various degrees.

But with the right words you can influence many people in the right direction.

Yes, to study to show yourself approved is what we are taught in the scriptures II Tim. 2:15. If that rule is applied the answers are more complete and thought out than just words with no meaning. Sometimes people ask questions to see if you know what you are talking about. Sometimes people want real information.

in a word yes by the Illuminati for 6000 years and the bible is full of keys that they have been programed to respond to

as well as keys that will make them unable to accept real (,but contradictory to the bible) truths

if an Alien sat on their nose they would not be able to see him.
and the Illuminati are descendants from the Anunaki who created the Adam's race as slaves to mine gold for them and who were Alien
but Christians are never allowed to believe this .because their mind control would be affected and control is the name of the game for the authors of the bible as well as manipulation.

I think they are brainwashed if they are not allowed to study other religions and belief systems, and if they do not spend time questioning their own. If you simply believe it because it's been told to you, then yeah, I consider that allowing yourself to be brainwashed.

If they question and study, and then come back to the idea that Christianity is the right faith for them, then no, I don't think so.

Karl Marx said religion is opium. the basic tenets of all religions are dogmatic. you can not expect any rational answer from them. not only Christians, Muslims also without expressing their feelings in their words, quote extensively by copying information from go ogle.their minds were conditioned to think, speak as per their religious books

Not me. I chose my religion last year. Before that, I was a know-it-all with a nebulous sense of spirituality. I'm very comfortable with Christianity. It makes sense to me, in the way I understand it. It serves me well, and also helps me to serve others well, no matter what religion they happen to follow.

Peace.

to many of them believe like a child would
you tell a child that santa clause exists and they dont ask for proof. to manny christains dont ask why they should believe or they take the single verce answer with out looking at the rest of the bible. i have coined a frase "burgerking christains" to decribe these people who pick one verce here and another verce there to prove there point.

The lost sinners are brainwashed. There is a place called Heaven, and a place called hell. Yes there is a God. they are too blind to see it.
