Curing aging would be just as hard as curing genetic defects. There's speculation that aging is due to shortening telomers after each replication of DNA. Eventually after enough cell divisions you lose enough genetic data such that the cells lose their function.
Fixing a problem on the DNA level like that is extremely hard. Even if someone were to solve the aging problem there would then be overpopulation problems and loads of ethical issues on who gets to live. We'd use up all the resources and then we'd have to start eating eachother. And thats how nature stays in balance.
The approach to chemotherapy for cancer is based more on finding specific labels on cancer cells and then releasing substances to kill those cells. It's much more plausible that this route will lead to medicine.

There are several anti-aging and "wellness" centers devoted to helping "patients" (clients) SLOW the aging process. Methods range from diet, exercise, and supplementation programs to the injection of Human Growth Hormone and/or testosterone and estroidal compounds

Why bother. It is a part of life. We are born, age then die. If we did not then we really would have "population problems" Why worry about aging,, it will give you wrinkles..lol..

People don't want to cure ageing because it's not a disease. If noone died, imagine how overpopulated the world would become.

Is that 5 billion of your money, or of someone elses that you want to spend?
Its interesting how you judge motives. People dont want. Dont you find that presumptious?

Because aging is natural. I'd rather die than live forever.
