First of all a tumor is any kind of growth.
There are multiple possibilities. How about a cyst (can be as big as tennis ball), ingrown hair, lipoma (fat cell growth), enlarged lymph node, or of course something not so good. You see the poss. of having something benign are good. So, go have a MD look at it since it is on your back anyway. Get it off your back and out off your mind.

Benign tumors are NOT cancerous. You should find out if it is a malignant tumor. Also, your lower back has no ribs! The best thing to rule out anything serious is to visit your doctor and have him or her examine it thoroughly. What's there to be scared about? A known 'devil' is better than an unknown 'stranger'. Right?

It could be a lipoma. It happens when a smooth muscle cell decides to grow and accumulate in a different type of muscle cells. They are usually benign(harmless) but may be painful if they are impacted or angiolipomas(in other words have a blood vessel going through it). It can be removed on a out-patient basis. Your doctor will make a tiny incision and remove it.

I've had cancer twice. I am only answering your question because i went to a doctor and they saved me.

The first time they thought that if I lived, i would have to have my entire leg amputated... right up to the hip. I just happened to get lucky that it was early enough..

surgery, chemo and radiation are not that much fun... but today it is all behind me, like it happend to someone else...

One day real soon, you are going to say one of two things...
"i'm glad I didn't wait"
or
"I wish I hadn't waited so long"

It's your choice, but I've had some wonderfull experiences in the years following my treatment and i'm glad I didn't miss them

Good Luck in whatever you choose

I had a cyst on my back that sounds like what you are describing. I could move it around and I put it off for a long time. I finally had it removed and it was no big deal. I wish I had done it a long time ago. Have it removed. It takes about 20 minutes and you don't feel a thing.

You have to see a doctor I Know people don't like to go but you must the sooner the better and don't let anyone tell you different!

The way it sounds to me, it must be a lipoma.
It has all the features you say and is absolutely harmless, needs to be removed though, orelse it may grow very large and start giving you itches and later pain.
I'm sure it is nothing, but go your surgeon; he/she will tell you what to do...

It may be premature to scare yourself as your movable mass may not be complicated as you think it would be. I am not an expert to this field, but I will just ask you to go to a doctor and get yourself checked. If he thinks it necessary, he may ask you to take endoscopy and/or biopsy tests. It is always better to check early as anything may happen to our body before it is too late.

dude everyone here would tell you to go and see the doctor anyway because from the sounds of things it doesn't sound normal at all- no one here would fully know because we aren't doctors so that would be the best place to go-the sooner u go the sooner you won't have to worry about it

Probably a cyst or a fatty tumor. (Non cancerous). Just go to the doctor, I hate to go too, but sometimes you just have to.
