It depends. If Rock/Rap music causes you to have spiritual convictions such as lust,drugs or other sinful pressures/influences then it is not healthy for you spiritually. If you just love the music and not so much as the lyrics like myself then I believe it is o.k. Listen to ur spirit man and trust ur heart. If it grieves or vexes you then you mature in ur choice of music and in God.

Yes, it is perfectly fine to be christian and still listen to rock/rap music because my daughter and her adopted brother listened to rock/rap all the time and anyways the way I feel is that when jesus comes to earth and tells us that something isn't right to do then it is ok, but you can still be a christian and listen to any kind of music you wish to listen to.

Yes it is. Nobody is a perfect Christian we all have our defects. To be honest their are some great Rock and Rap Christian groups. KRS1 had some spiritual rhymes and a lot of other hip hop artists have rhymed about God. P.O.D is a great Christian rock group. However don't believe the hype some hip hop and rock stars are trying to push off on you. The take care of me and let everyone else take care of themselves thing. The it's cool to be hard core and to be hard core you have to kill people or rob people all that junk. They complain about all the funerals they have to go to, but stay caught up in the drugs and on the club scene starting trouble. A lot of hip hop artsists send positive messages too, Busta Rymes and Ludacris have some. The upbeat music, that's not telling you it's cool to be a gansta and sleep around with all these hoes and some hoe's are worth the disease. Now skip out on that.

Rap and Rock are not for Christians. Period.
Whats the point of being non-worldy people while listening, dressing, talking and acting the same as we did before.

Pray God and ask him to let you dislike rock and rap.
Also, people listen to rock music to move their body to a rhythm, it just so easy to bop to rock and rap etc. This is not good. Satan is a master of music and works on your feelings. This type of music makes you feel and not think. Try listening to hymns, and music without a drum, and without a fast beat.

There are actually some really good Christian rock/rap groups. If you listen to Launchcast Radio, they have Christian stations. This might be a way for you to find some Christian artists you like.

there is alot of awesome christian rock and rap music out there. i personally wouldn't listen to the secular because there are alot of lyrics that can cause you to think like secular culture which is contrary to God's Word, while christian music can help "renew your mind" with the Word of God as it says in romans .

God loves you no matter what. Just be sure he knows you love him too. If you're really christian, then you should pray once in a while, even if it's just for you and what you want. Just make sure he knows that you know he exists and you'll be fine. Listen to whatever you want. lol

whatever you put into your heart is what your gonna get out of it. Possibility you listen to that music, you might start living what you hear. You'll still be christian as long as you believe Jesus, but do you think Jesus wants you to listen to that? You'll become a weak christian.
