I've tried - no freeware, AVG Free Edition helps to keep it clean.
Try : - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools- Disk Defragmenter on your computer for Windows XP 2.
It Analyses and gets rid off dead-end bits & pieces

There are quite a few but Microsofts Regclean is one that works fairly well for me. Used with the utilities that come with windows like Disk Cleanup and Defrag it helps to keep my system running smoothly and fast. At the link below there are many other good free utilities as well.

Softwares finally consume memory which will decrease overall performance. So, do not desire any softwares to spice up overall performance and velocity. extremely, i might recommend you to a million. keep Temp and %Temp% folders empty (abode windows + R, sort as given). 2. sparkling pc and keep much less data/folders on pc. 3. Defragment your drives each and every so frequently. 4. Run disk cleanup application. 5. develop digital RAM of the force wherein OS is put in. this might surely develop velocity and function.
