Give it a break--the facts below
I will speak for many farmers-the 80% who don't want illegals here. Your food is covered-most farmers do not support the big corp farms who use migrant workers.
less than 10 percent by Mexico (10%pickers-less10% other farm related)--the other 90% of the farms say your welcome. We don't need you -you need us. Be nice
"Phillip Martin, an economist at the University of California, Davis, has demolished the argument that a crackdown on illegals would ruin it, or be a hardship to consumers. Most farming — livestock, grains, etc. — doesn't heavily rely on hired workers. Only about 20 percent of the farm sector does, chiefly those areas involving fresh fruit and vegetables.
The average "consumer unit" in the U.S. spends $7 a week on fresh fruit and vegetables, less than is spent on alcohol, according to Martin. On a $1 head of lettuce, the farm worker gets about 6 or 7 cents, roughly 1/15th of the retail price. Even a big run-up in the cost of labor can't hit the consumer very hard.
Martin recalls that the end of the bracero guest-worker program in the mid-1960s caused a one-year 40 percent wage increase for the United Farm Workers Union. A similar wage increase for legal farm workers today would work out to about a 10-dollar-a-year increase in the average family's bill for fruit and vegetables. Another thing happened with the end of the bracero program: The processed-tomato industry, which was heavily dependent on guest workers and was supposed to be devastated by their absence, learned how to mechanize and became more productive."
If every illegal alien here today currently left America, the immediate economic impact would be insignificant and over the long haul, the impact would likely be negligible.
Got it!

You can have tomatoes practically for free if you've got 20 square feet of suitable garden space, I've even seen tomatoes grown in window garden boxes. That's about as close as you get to 'free' in this world...a packet of tomato seeds costs what, 80 cents, and about 5 minutes of attention per week and Bingo! Your own home-grown tomatoes. Locally grown, no fossil fuel burned in getting the tomato to your house. How 'bout them fritters? LOL

if you want proof why dont you visit a large farm and talk to a farmer who not only would have to pay double for the same workforce without illegals but would have to pay double again probably to cover them with workers comp and insurance .... so there goes that theory ... why dont YOU actually do some research on the federal reserve ... this is the system that enslaves the middle class and keeps them perpetually in debt ... its a private system ... its why our govt is practically bankrupt ... its the reason the national debt can NOT be payed off ... its an impossibility with the current system ... i underline that word IMPOSSIBILITY ... it would exstinguish our money supply to pay off the national debt ... the federal reserve serves itself ... kennedy was assasinated when he signed executive order 11110 that would have abolished the federal reserve system ... about a week later ... the only president in history to pay off the national debt is andrew jackson and he did it by killing the central bank of his time ....theres a wealth of info you should research yourself about the federal reserve and how the system works ... but the bottom line is that the problems with the economy stem from this diabolical PRIVATE system that controls our money supply ... and the truth of the matter imo is that the media has been flooded with the illegals issue because it IS a problem ... its a problem to the new national ID card to be implemented in 2008 ..."Real ID"

I wont look for another persons idea. Im going to give you my words and my thoughts. If you can't handle the remarks people make then you need to take a brake from this place. Its filled with many over opinionated people that are more then willing to share their beliefs. If you ask then you shall receive but don't expect for the answer to be exactly what you want.

americans won't do farm work thats why illegals do it? thats a load of crap. thast like saying americans won't do construction thats why illegals are here and so on and so on. illegals drive down the wages in the industries to make the company owners richer. but as has been posted leftists ignore facts and resort to name calling.

I agree, we need migrant workers to tend to crops. When was the last time you saw a white guy clamoring to pick tomatoes for $.25 (cents) a bucket or oranges. I think that it is only fair that they enter the country with a work visa as opposed to sneaking into the country... but you make a point that we forget.... they do the jobs that no one else wants to. If I'm wrong, go take their jobs.

You can give all of these people all the proof in the world and they still think you are a liar...that's their only defense...theirs so many reasons why they shouldn't be here but they cant show one reason why they should be here...
