You are my kind of person! I have had every breed there is to have, last year I rescued 2 Basset Hounds, they are the loves of my life, I can't believe for all these years, I thought they slept all the time and were lazy. Boy, was I wrong! They are so stubborn, but when you look in those big eyes, they win!Lucy and Rufus...the greatest dogs ever!

My husband used to have a bassett. He was mean! It was the weirdest thing because I had never heard of them being mean. Has anyone ever heard of a bassett being mean? Maybe he was the result of inbreeding. I didn't meet him until he was really old but I guess he was mean all his life. He bit a few people. He was never mean to me or my kids and he was as cute as can be. Thats how he would fool people. He would wag his tail and look sweet and back up until they came close to the fence and then he would charge at them. He also bit people outside of the fence. We couldn't even take him for walks because he was so cute that people would always come up to pet him.
My husband loved him so much that he never had the heart to put him to sleep. He just kept him away from people. He lived to be 13 I think. I thought he was a sweetheart!
Your dog is about the cutest thing I've ever seen!! Have fun with her!

I rescue animals and I recently had one surrendered to me by the city ACO. She was an owner turn in and was positive for heartworm. It more than TICKS me off when people don't care enough for their animals to put them on prevention. This is a fantastic dog. She is a dwarf bloodhound with a very tall personallity. Always grabs a bite of catfood out of the dish on her way out to potty. A real chow hound. And they are all difficult to train because they have a mind of their own. especially when it comes to food.

yes, I have had two in the past and have one right now. I really think they train their owners. We go where they lead us, we open doors for them and they manage to get their way by being so sweet. My Sabrina is 12 years old but plays like a puppy at times. They are smarter than one thinks but very stubborn. Just enjoy her. If she comes when called, count her trained!

Well, all I know they good at putting on a front. Check to see how many Beers are in the Fridge tomorrow.
Yep, I was correct. Just looked at the Pics. There an empty beer can behind the potted plant. Notice the guilt look in her eyes? This how you know, their eyes never lie!
But, they are good loving dogs. Thanks for sharing! ;-)
