I would check with your vet. The problem could be fleas, but Lhasas are also really prone to skin allergies. I had to have mine on a serious regimen of foot soaks and sprays and medications to get his chewing under control. It finally paid off though, and now we're down to an antihistamine one time a day. Best of luck to you and your doggy, but take him to the vet before he gets an infection from all that biting.

Have your dog examined by a qualified veterinarian to make sure that it is just fleas.

There are many other problems that can cause a dog to bite himself: mange, allergies, stress, or simply fleas. Your vet can tell you.

Advantge is not waterproof and is only effective against adult fleas. Frontline is waterproof - for adult fleas, flea eggs, and ticks.
Advantix - similar to Fronline. Revolution is waterproof - protects against fleas in all their life stages, ticks, mosquitoes that carry West Nile Virus, and most biting insects.

Take your pick.

I will never buy frontline again. our dog had just as many ticks as she did before. advantix washes off after a week or so...try advantage.

He could have a skin allergy or parasite. We found our dog was allergic to certain dyes.
